| The Chameleons – The Fan and the Bellows Lyrics
| 12 years ago

It's about falling in love despite your better judgement. More specifically, the song is about the old Victorian romantic sensibilities, and a man who can't fight his feelings for a woman. The imagery of the brecher's brook, cupid, the fan and the bellows are all meant to evoke the Victorian era. |

| Wild Nothing – Gemini Lyrics

The lyrics are inaccurate.
This song contrasts the debilitating, agonizing effects of love with the singer's overwhelming desire for a woman. In the first verse, Tatum sings, "You're the mouth, I've got nothing to say anymore.", and in the second verse he sings "You're the eyes, I've got nothing to see anymore.", it's about how love can blind people and make them unable to think and articulate themselves clearly. In the absence of eyes and a mouth, all the speaker is left with is his "palm" to blindly "reach out for" his lover. Love has literally made him senseless.
There are two sides to the speaker, one side realizes that he is lovesick, and that love is hurting him, while another side still desires this woman. That is where the idea of the "twin soul" comes in. He at once loathes and loves this person. "Gemini" is also the Zodiac sign symbolized by twins. |

| Interpol – Obstacle 2 Lyrics

In this song, Paul's emotions are in conflict. He wishes to better himself in the eyes of a woman, but he is unwilling to change who he is or turn away from his old vices. This, I believe is the "obstacle" in Obstacle 2. |
