Right! That's what makes Rise so inspiring. Like to Tim, of course, most of his songs have political meanings, but the lyrics are loose enough to be interpreted otherwise. I find that Audience of One is a great example of this. In Tim's mind, it's a strike against the Bush administration, but it doesn't directly reference anybody in particular, so to someone else it can be based on their personal experiences. |

Plus, they're not religious, but not really anti-religious either. Tim seems to be very open, and he's pretty knowledgeable in bible studies. Tim was raised in Catholicism, and he's pretty knowledgeable on the Bible |

Yeah i realized that afterward lol, im an idiot. But yeah that makes sense. It's like we just wanna look on at the damage and point a camera at it, but we're waiting on BP to take all the action. |

Rise Against never fails to open their albums with a vigorous, energetic song. Really gets you pumped for the rest of the record. Whether or not you support Rise Against's change in style over the last couple albums, you have to admit that Tim still packs power into his music. They always come in with a bang, as well as go out with one. |

Love this song. I like the "God bless America" part. Everybody is all over just spewing "God bless America!!!" Like we're so righteous in our policies and everything we do, and yet the burning truth is that we're so corrupt and we're supporting unjust, inhumane acts such as killing innocent citizens and forced labor. Nothing like some strong, sarcastic lyrics to end the song. |

The part about the axes in the attics makes sense, but i'm not sure where you get "giants in the sky" from... i'm pretty sure it's "cameras" isn't it? Which would make the person above's interpretation fit together, about the media and everything... I guess it'll all be cleared up once we can get our hands on the album booklet, lol. |

Oh good call, that line confused me before but now that makes sense... Like keeping actions in the attics as if to stow something away and don't use it, just like people are "stowing" away their incentive to step in and help, but instead just go down there to film all the crap floating around in the gulf and talk about what BP is gonna do about it. |

I have to agree with Skatingwithgod... his interpretation seems to be more logical. A lot of you guys automatically see "Stained Glass and Marble" and automatically think "Oooooh they're atheist, woohoo yeah!" But if you look deeper into the lyrics, it's really going after the Church... the last few lines clearly bring that out. |
