| I think writing a love song here is euphemism for sex or physical intimacy. The guy in the relationship is moving too quickly and he expects his girl to move along with his pace and she feels pressured. He could be wanting her to move in and demanding sex or any form of physical intimacy which she isn't comfortable with just yet, and even though she got confused for a while: "made me think that i need this too" so she's saying she is staying put and if he doesn't slow down she has no problem with him leaving. | |

| This is definitely my all time favorite song. I love how he loses track of time when he's with her and how he feels there are no words to describe how he's feeling. I also love how its "you and me" and other random people who aren't important, and nothing is important anymore. Whenever I listen to this song I imagine the girl and guy to be dancing and staring at each other and forgetting there are people in the room too. It is simply beautiful and magical. I knowI'd love to feel that way and experience that someday. :) | |

You seem like a great guy, she's lucky! :) and by the way when u were describing you being there for your best friend after a bad break up you reminded me of the song "she says" by howie day. check it out! That song also reminds me of my guy best friend who is always there for me especially when there's a boy involved who'd hurt me. But that's just my interpretation of the song! :) | |

I never thought it was about a girl or a breakup or any of that sort. To me it is clearly an internal conflict. He knows he's supposed to believe in God and he has, untuil recently. Something went wrong and now he's wondering if there really is someone in the sun. He imagines God to be in the sun (up there) wondering what happened to men supposedly his sons, what went wrong? but the confusing part about this song is his shift in perspective. "and being caught in between all u wish for and all uve seen" this probably directed at himself and at others facing the same dilemma. They wish for good stuff but life is throwing crap at him/them. And their faith is hanging by a thread. Yet, even after all this he still chooses to believe there's a God and he hopes God will always be with him/them. I think when he said he needs to apologize cuz when he showed him himself he became someone else he meant that he feels bad for quetioning his faith and when he faces God he feels the need to apologize for it because showed him a new path and give him life again, and in his head God is still an omnipotent and strong and he clearly still trusts Him. Still his human side is wavering his faith and he is wondering if he does evntually find his way back to God, how much will he find really? and will it be enough? Then again he's not even sure if there is anyone in the sun. that is God. The rest is self explanatory. That's just my interpretation. :) Last but definitely not least this is one of the most amazing and honest songs I've ever heard and I think every human being can relate to this song at some point in their life. |

I love this song so much, as I do with all Lifehouse songs (my fav band) :) As a lot of people said, music is wonderful because it is open to interpretation and I completely agree! I think I associate this song to Jesus especially when I'm going through rough times and I need something to uplift me. There are times where i feel I'm way in down and there's no way anyone or anything can save me from the darkness but this song is like applying salt to a wound. "I am here still waiting but i still have my doubts" ..I still have that shred of hope I will be saved. "broken heart that's still beating" ..again with the hope. Even though my heart is broken and i feel like im dying inside it is still beating, beating with hope. "in the pain is there healing, in ur name i find meaning so I'm still holding on, im barely holding on to you" ..even though I'm in so much pain and im hurting i still believe there is healing and in your name (Jesus) there is meaning and a new path and hope for me :) (very hopeful song) "I still see your reflection inside my eyes that are looking for purpose they're still looking for life" ..this is beautiful in my opinion because I believe that no matter how depressed a person can be, if they dig deep enough they will find their roots and what once made them happy and those roots are enough to find your "way back home" again. All you have to do is look for it. For me, it is jesus here, and faith in Him. "I'm hanging on another day Just to see what, you will throw my way And I'm hanging on, to the words you say You said that I will, will be okay The broken light on the freeway Left me here alone I may have lost my way now But I haven't forgotten my way home" Every human being wants to know theyre not alone and there is a light, it is after all human nature. That is why he hang on to another day to listen to him again, hoping today will be the day he will be rescued. Then he says, I may have lost my way now but i havent forgotten my way home. Home is a metaphor for his roots/basics and whatever he holds important to him. For me, God is my light who reminds me of my home to Him whenever I feel like I've lost my way. :) Then again people have different interpretations to this song, this is mine however. |

i think this song is great because it goes out to all kinds of people: lovers, boyfriend-girlfriends, friends, best friends, separation, death, graduation.. etc It's pretty simple to understand. "I'll sing it one last time for u, then we really have to go" which means this is good-bye. "I can barely look at you, but every single time I do I know we'll make it anywhere" This reminds me of my best friend whom I haven't seen in 2 years since we graduated. (we went to different universities) This is exactly how I was feeling at the moment. "light up light up as if u have a choice, even if you cannot hear my voice ill be right beside you dear" ..I know this hard to grasp and deal with right now, but we have to go on even if it seems to hard or even impossible to do, and no matter what i will always be there for you and you wont be alone. "to think I might not see those eyes, makes it so hard not cry and as we say our long good-byes i nearly do" ..This is exactly what was happening to me when I was saying good-bye to my best friend 2 years ago. I will never forget the way she was looking at me and I was so choked up but I refused to cry in front of her, I remember thinking at the moment this is the last time i will get to be with her or see her up close in a long time so I'll save crying for later, i want to take in everything right now. As we both turned away to leave, I broke down and cried. :( "have heart my dear, we're bound to be afraid" ..be brave, don't linger on the past, it's time to move on now and we are going to be scared but we'll make it. I also remember at the time two of my friends who were dating had to break up at the end of the year and the guy dedicated this song to her. this is how I came to know this song. |

Although the first time I heard this song was while I was watching Vampire Diaries (the break up scene) I can't really relate it too love or break ups. For me, this song is about losing grip with reality and dreams fading away. "I shot for the sky, I'm stuck on the ground so why did I try, i know I'm gonna fall down. I thought I could fly, so why did I drown?" this shows the dreams a person has and expectations and successes that never come true. he thought it was going to be easier and the dream was right in front of him, but suddenly it became so far out of reach. "Not ready to let go, cuz then i'd never know what i could be missing" & "when do i give up what i was wishing for" this further proves the idea and it shows his internal conflict/struggle. Is it time to be realistic and let go of the dream? but if I do, will I regret it later? the what ifs are still there.. It is very upsetting to "hear the sound of losing what you never found" to realize all you've wanted was so close but so far away. I think everyone can relate to this song at some point in their lives. It is very simple, yet very moving as it is one of those straightforward songs with no hidden meaning instead it is very honest and clear. |

| I think this song is about a guy who very well could be in love with his girl best friend, but doesnt realise it yet, when he says "and i dont know where im coming from and u dont know what it means to u.. she doesnt mean u". She has a crush/boyfriend who break her heart, and he sings it to the guy showing him what he's missing out on by telling him the crush/boyfriend will never see her the way he does "and when she breaks down and makes a sound ull never hear her the way that i do" and when he keeps saying "how would u know?" ;and to tell him to back off he says "and when she says she wants somebody else, i hope u know she doesnt mean you" I think he also sings to the girl when he says "and thats why im wondering why u had to tell me whats going on in ur head" which could be him questioning his feelings, because he is bothered by whats happening with his best friend and getting in the middle of it will get him emotionally involved.. maybe? | |

This is one of the most beautiful and touching songs I've ever heard. When I first listened to this song, I looked across my room at the picture of my baby brother who passed away 17 years ago and I couldn't help but cry. Lately I've been wondering whether or not he will know me when we meet again and if he really is up above watching over me and then I heard this song. I think this song fits my situation perfectly. "I think i know what you've been asking me", "you should always know no matter where you are I never will be far away", for me this goes both ways "goodnight my angel now it's time to sleep" ..sleep forever. Like lullabies, you and I will never die. I love singing it out loud while looking at you're picture. I know you're listening.. I love you <3 |
