Diamond eyes, this is my personal meaning and from a few friends of mine who served over in Iraq and Afgan. Diamond eyes are the eyes that you can see the world clearer rather than clouded. Your not blind to hurt, and pain anymore. You can accept people for who they are, rather than who you want them to be. Diamond eyes also allow you to be able to have a better look than others could at a situation which is why the new agencies all contact vets when they want opinions on war, police officers on a hostage situation or a event that the cops are involved in, and so on and so forth. |

One of my friends introduced me to this song about a month ago, when i first heard it i broke down in tears. The first part is self explainitory it's about a child that no one believes in and he gives up hope, because he doesn't think he will find someone to love him for him hence the songs name "Love me". The second part is about a woman that thinks she doesn't look good enough and that is what drove away her husband or boyfriend, and she's looking to find to someone to accept her for who she is not what others want her to be. The last part is about a man who's been in prison all his life for murder and is seeking forgiveness before he dies. He finds this forgiveness in a voice he hears that tells him they accept him for who he is and what he wants to be accepted for rather than not to be accepted at all. |

War isn't always pretty, but it isn't always horrible. There are times in war where stuff happens and happiness happens weather you choose to believe this or not, for me I know the realities after war. I'm not a soldier but i am close to many soldiers and i have lost a few good friends that went overseas and never came home, there are some atrocities in war but there are also some miracles that happen within it. This is just my view on that comment of yours, it put a bit to much emphasis on the bad side of war rather than the other side that people often seek to forget. |

My take on this song and this is the take of someone who can relate to this closely due to cutting family ties. The part at the start where he says "I am a plastic man, i wish i could be the one you could be proud of, wish i could show you what you think I'm made of." That part more or less talks about him wishing he could be what his family or loved one thinks that he is made of or could be. The part where he says "Someday i know I'll find my place, Someday i know this pain will fade." That part talks about finding his place within himself and within the world, the second part of it "Someday i know this pain will fade" talks about how he will someday become numb to the pain and will no longer feel it anymore. The song overall to me feels like it's a meaning of cutting ties between family, and loved ones to try and find yourself within the world and yourself. |

This song is about a story of a soldier who went overseas. Rise against talked to a soldier about his experiences during the time he was in the military and that's how this song was written, whenever i listen to it i get flashbacks as i lost friends in Iraq during the occupation. |
