this is my interpretation. First verse: the family sends Alexander off because he's always getting into trouble. He in turn, cuts off all contact. Second verse: He gets into trouble and could possibly be about to die. The family realizes that they might have had some part in it. final verse: The first part is how he would get into trouble with the police and the neighbors would talk about it. In the last part, the police have shown up to tell the family of his death and now the neighbors really have something to talk about. Just the way I see it anyways. |

I see it as a man from a more sheltered life who meets this girl who is beautiful and perfect to him but also from the "wrong side." He believes that she could have any man she wants and calls her his angel because out of all the people, she chose him. Ultimately I think it's a love song. It will be my future wedding song :P |
