I think you all are wrong on certain counts. Here is what I get from it, merely because I have been through this. Ill pick it apart: "Liar, liar You never called But I'll be just fine Yeah, I'm fine Sleep well" - I think the girl is off being selfish, doing her own thing, makes those little promises like "ill call you", and just leaves him hanging. Of course he is fine, he is used to this. "Well this never made much sense to me So I sleep alone, yeah 'Cause you are the same as I always remembered I'll always remember" - Hes confused on why she just wont spend time with him, he wants these nights with her but she is off doing her own thing, im sure he feels forgotten and not good enough. "Where was all your money? (Where was all your money?) You said where is all your money? You like it more than ever And I cannot stand this Because you like it more than ever It was just, just a goddamn mistake (Stay) Well stay at home Because you're way too good at taking Love is too much I'll be just fine in here (Stay) Stay at home, because it's always the same Darling, you fucked up" - What I get from this, is she clearly is keeping him around because he feeds her freedom. If he was controlling she wouldnt be out constantly every night. Hes probably one of those guys that would rather stay at home because if they both are there, what other guys are there to flirt with her and crap? I do believe he says TAKING, because she is taking his money, happiness, his time with her, etc. But he gives her what ever she wants, because "Love is too much". Love controls him. She controls him. "ill stay at home, cause its always the same" Which is true, those parties that 'party people' go to are literally always the same, same drama, same people, same fights, same shit. I am sure he is just frickin lost because he feels he could give her so much more than those selfish nights she has. "I guess I love to spend all my time Yeah, up in my own brain Because I can believe the words Coming up out of your face" - I think this line needs to be taken literally. Because she is so good at lying and manipulating to get the nights that she wants, the words that come out of her mouth he just cant believe that they are the truth, so he kinda "speaks for her" in his own head. Like, although you are telling me you are going there because you have a friend you havent seen in ages, I know its a lie, or else you wouldnt be doing this every night, so you are probably just going out to, in terms, "forget" about me. I am sure he spends this time up in his head and not out loud to reduce the amount of fighting. "Well I can't believe you're still in the valley, Wasting away. I guess they got the best of me, And got your all. But I'll be just fine here. " - Clearly he is upset that she is still partying and doing all this shit at "the valley". Just wasting her life away. But all these people that she goes and sees, and all these nights always lets her just 'let loose, be free'. All that time they could have had together, im sure he is jealous that all those people get to spend time with his love, and he doesnt, thats why 'the valley' got the best of him. Alright, I love Lydia, but goddamn. These songs just bring back so much shit. Its saddening. |
