| I think that this song is about a man who she loves, perhaps her best friend, and they are a very hard person to get to know, but she's done it. She, too, sometimes gets lost in his facade of "everything is fine," but then she remembers how hurt he really is (I always seem to forget, how fragile are the very strong). She loves him in a way that he doesn't love her back, perhaps because he loves someone else who has broken his heart, so she must send him away in order for him to heal, but also in order for her to heal. She wants to regain contact with him someday, and hopefully he's "better, better than today." | |
