it is a very similar tune il give you that, but i think the black keys have too much respect for music to rip someone else off. if they were asked about it they would probably be the first to say where the original tune came from. |

if you listen to the song as if a girl is singing it definitely sounds has a lesbian theme. like two young girls being attracted to each other, one is enthusiastic and the other thinks she only wants to experiment "the love is fleeting", but is attracted to her none the less hence the confusion... "bobby said its fine he dont consider it cheating", if it was about a boy and a girl then why would the boyfriend not consider it cheating? |

For me it's definately about sex, the tire tracks reference and also the "hit and run" i.e. one night stands. a girl was trying to tie him down and jimi was having none of it because he knew the grass would be greener on the other side "the other side of town". Aint no bitch gona tie Jimi down, the mans a stallion! |

Dylan is a fucking genius, this song is probably about loads of different things, we will never know for sure but to me it sounds like he was tripping when he wrote this, whether or not that means its "about" drugs isn't clear. who cares, it's a great song. |

I listened to this song while stoned, and i came to the conclusion that it is about having sex or masterbating, possibly for the first time, and not knowing whether or not you are climaxing... "pull meout from inside, i am ready i am ready i am ready i am... fine" like the build up to the climax and then not quite getting there, which is normal, and doing this again and again etc, "folded and unfolded" makes sense too if you think about it (you dont have to think about it), andthen at the end he if fine, without climaxing, but he isnt sure because it felt great but he was expecting more. |

to me it's about being paranoid that people know a secret that you thought was safe, and tring to convince yourself you can cope, then deciding to leave it all behind
"i'm gonna work the straw
make the sweat drip out of every pore"
meaning to do farmwork or manual labour, possibly trying to make up for the act, and "bleeding right before the lord", means he is being judged and trying to show he is repentent. |
