This post hit so close to home with me! Although I have ADD I am also studying to be a elementary school teacher. In this profession it is my job to help students who are also "in their own little world". However, I do not believe that ADD is always a personailty flaw. Check out this website and maybe it will give you a new perspective .http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/life/seeing-attention-deficit-disorder-in-a-useful-way-63133.html It is not always a bad thing to be the person to "sail" away and be different. I can already tell that you are an excellent writer, full of emotion and able to keep my attention (which is difficult). Find something you love to do and keep trying, don't give up. |

| Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Soundmeout, you should interpret songs for a living. (or write songs) You took the beauty of the song and found real meaning behind the lyrics. I agree with everything you posted. The singer once wanted to be unique and now he just wants to have a greater purpose in life. Perhaps he wants to work hard to live a simple and peaceful life with those that he loves instead of trying to be this big shot rock star. | |
| Modest Mouse – Missed the Boat Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Did anyone interpret the lyrics to mean this: To me they are trying to convey that they are partying up on earth and just having a good time. "We didn't read the invite We just danced at our own wake All our favorites were playing So we could shake, shake, shake, shake, shake" And not really "getting on the boat" or "getting on the plane" to the heavenly afterlife? Also he says "Oh, and we carried it all so well As if we got a new position Oh, and I laugh all the way to hell Saying, "Yes, this is a fine promotion" Oh, and I laugh all the way to hell" Its kind of like he telling himself he doesn't buy the whole religion thing...and if it is true he must be going to hell. |

It is so interesting that someone could feel the same way towards giving up alcohol and breaking up with a lover. This song reminded me of my ex, sometimes I really want to hangout with him but I know it will never work out. Thanks for the post! I might put this on a CD for my friend in rehab. |

These lyrics are so heartfelt and unique. This song is about finding true love. Aren't we all just looking for a "home" - or a person we can feel at home with. "And you'll love me 'til my heart stops Love me 'til I'm dead Eyes that light up, eyes look through you Cover up the blank spots Hit me on the head" = My favorite/romantic part Hopefully, this song will play at my wedding...if I ever find my "home". |

| Ryan Adams – Burning Photographs Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This song seems to be a vent from Ryan Adams! "I used to be sad now I'm just bored with you" - Perhaps this was an old lover who eventually made him sad, then he got bored with the relationship. (which tends to happen often in relationships.) I love this song. When I ever had bad days, I just listen to this song while I am driving and scream the lyrics as loud as I can....it always makes me feel better. |
