yo! check it out, since most of you are prolly too young to know this i'll let you know what this song is really about. it's totally from an old movie (which is based off of real events) that had robin williams in it. i forget the name but i watched it in my high school pyschology class. it's about a dr that finds a temporary cure for the pyschological disease known as catatonic schizeophrenia, which is when a person basically falls into a coma like state, except their eyes are open. they can't move anything by will, but their bodies will move on instinct, and reflex. in the movie robin williams is the dr, and his first patient is a middle age man who went into this catatonic state when he was just a lil boy. williams finds a drug that "woke up" the man, who preceded to act like a lil boy bc he didn't know what happened. but unfortunately the drugs wore off after a certain time limit, and even worse everytime he took the meds the relapse time got shorter and shorter. until it eventually stopped working, even when the dr tried upping the dosage. this explains most of the song, but the "full circles" part at the end however still escapes me, i think it is meant to portray the train of thought in a dream that someone is having in the coma. the constant changing thought is like a weird dream that just makes no sense, and then the very end of the song is just the depressing perspective of humanity trying to figure out how to extend it's own existence. if you read this you should definately watch the movie, it'll make this song soooooo much more meaningful, good movie too. |
