Nirvana – Come As You Are Lyrics 15 years ago
I believe this song is about not passing judgments to other people and to be open-minded. In the beginning of the song, the narrator isnt sure of how this person will be, but he will accept this person, contradictions and all. Upon arriving, the narrator adds that he will not be judgmental towards this person,"And I swear that I dont have a gun."Almost the entire song is full with dualities as well as in many of the other songs Kurt wrote. "Come dowsed in mud, soaked in beech" "Take your time, hurry up. Choice is yours dont be late" and "as a trend, as a friend, as an old enemy" are some of the more obvious examples. This shows that hes decided to accept it all. Instead of resolving the contradictions, he'll let them live together under one roof. All of this came from the book Come As You Are. Its an excellent read and I highly recommend this to people who are huge fans of Nirvana and Kurt.
