I think I'm going out on a limb here, but I think this song is about a fear of intimacy. "She remembered all the shadows and the doubts" ~She's been hurt in a past relationship, perhaps even raped, but that's a BIG assumption... "Don't you understand This the warning and the message I remember As you touch my hand" Basically, I see this as a somewhat hopeful ending, because she's gotten past the pain she experienced in the previous relationship; either that or she's at least acknowledged it. |

I believe the right lyrics are: "You say things Most don't say aloud" And "On the Nile", not "On the mile" Also, this is debateable, but I here "Off the wall' instead of "Out for a walk" even though it doesn't make as much sense. |
