Iron Maiden's style is changing, it's progressing to better, not completely progressive, one could call it progressive heavy metal but of course contains the melodic stuff that we are used to and the riffs are also great, of course the vocalist is getting older so that's a normal thing but he has the passion man! so we can feel what he feels with the song (very great one btw) |

IMO it is DT's greatest song because the lyrics are touching, and it combines power, progressive and heavy metal in a way that any person will love it instantly, i don't know how they can perform such complex, melodic and highly synchronic music fo 11 goddamn minutes!! |

IMO this song is underrated, well i don't think that it has a deeper meaning than what is shown because the descriptions are precise "you're the rider of the desert sands"
But what struck me most about this song is the second solo, very few instrumentalists can combine a quiet and powerful effect on a solo AND match the theme of the song (which is more "heavy"), i heard something close to that in Master Of Puppets, but the way Iron Maiden make it is far more delicate |

I don't know if this is antiwar or not, but this song is (IMO) the best WAY to describe what happened in that day, and any video clip of it will ruin the message that Steve Harris sends, what's so good about Iron Maiden is that all the elements in the song are in such harmony that you don't get annoyed from three guitarists playing at the same time, unlike other metal bands that get you a headache before even reaching the first chorus, and that's only a part of what Iron Maiden is about. |

this song is one of the greatest Iron Maiden songs, the instrumental, the solo, the vocal, man that guy's really still got it! all the band has progressed and overpassed themselves! but what most struck me is the lyrics!! it really makes you live the moment! IMO that this song talks about the theme of it's album (leaving earth and to the cosmos), that we are ruining the earth with wars, global warming, you name it.."and i think of what we've done" and naturely the peaple are looking to another planet to find life or a new habitat, i think this is the new "home", so the "astronaut" describes us his journey to "albion's land" |
