to me, when i first heard the song, i felt like it was about building intimacy, than loosing that because you re unstable, loosing the ones you love because you re taunted somehow, or cursed, or simple love misery and tragedy, and because of that you break that person's heart, you let her down, you make her hurt, you waste and squander. but the video is weird. Surely, it has a dark lonely mood to it, but some things are odd. WHy did skin leave the taxi if she still had to walk? why did the taxi driver looked so surprised? why did the thief had an epiphany after he crossed her and only then, decided to mug her? why didnt she care? feels like someone let her down, and whatever weird things happen to her, she doesnt care, everything is already broken, everything is not worth fighting for. Maybe that's that. |
