| I just listen to the Misfits versions and i must say, they sound excactly the same. THEN I LISTEN TO THEM BOTH LIVE. THE MISFITS SUCKED LIVE. All of those who honestly beleive that they sound nothing alike then, when it comes to the live version you are right. My Chemical Romance did a way better job with it then the mistfits could ever have dreamed of doing. I know this my come across as me hating on the misfits, but i love the misfits, im just saying when it comes to this song My Chemical Romance did a better job. Also, I would once agian like to point out that the Misfits had to listen and give there permission for My Chemical Romance to do the cover and i quess the Misfits liked it so if you really think that it sucked then if you are a true Misfits fan then you would accept the bands decision to let a better sounding band to cover the song. | |

| Sorry about the post I forgot to add the detail behind the song. My Chemical Romance had a strange craving for horror growing up and you can tell in most of there songs it has a horror twist that could be implied. This song was about the ORIGINAL Dawn of The Dead which took place in the town of Monroeville, which followed a group of people who took shelter in the Monroeville mall. My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way and his brother Michael (aka Mikey) had always thought it would have been a great side story with two lovers with the group. It talks about the escalators and fountain refers to a scene in the movie when the zombies are going up the escalators and a zombie falls into the fountain. I remember when i was in high school together and we watched this watched movie wfor the first time and at that part when that zombie fell into that fountain Gerard could not stop laughing and Mikey just put it on the A-B repeat so we watched it about 100 times till we finished it. So it makes sense why Gerard put that in there. Also if you watched the 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead you can see how this song greatly influenced the director, seeming how there is two lover and one has to kill the other. There's alittle back story to that. | |

The song is about a zombie apocalypse and a young couple who are cought in the middle of it all. The climax is when they are caught in a storm of them and she is bitten. Not knowing you changed from just one bite. I fought them all off just to hold you close and tight. Which is pretty clear, he killed the horde of zombies and when they got to the safe house she tells him he needs to kill her. "And if I had the guts, to put this to your head but would anything matter if your already dead" Obviously it's talking about him putting a gun to her head and thinking about not doing it thinking if she turns he could get a cure. She is telling him to do it. "and should I be shocked now at the last thing you said? Befor I pull this trigger your eyes vacant and stained and saying you love me, makes things harder at best" This is saying that he looks into her eyes as he is holder the gun to her head and he sees her eyes changing knowing that there isn't that long befor she changes and he is shocked by her telling him she rather be dead then live trying to kill him and she keeps saying she loves her and he is saying it back but saying that it is making It harder to pull the trigger "but does anyone notice there's a corpse in this bed" After he pulls the trigger there was a corpse in the bed and as he sat there holding her and crying he is bit by the reanimates corpse and he had shot him self. A very tragic ending but a very romantic feeling to it P.S. He wrote the song "Skylines and Turnstiles" about 9/11. Gerard started the band to save peoples lifes. If you looked up something befor you talked you would learn something you dumbass. Secondly My Chemical Romance is the only band in excistance to care about there music and there fans, when I went to there concert they said to the crowd "All the girls in this audience, you are beautiful and we know it. Don't you listen to what anyone tells you." they said on a tour of there's after they found out bands were going around with with video camera asking girls to show there tits for backstage passes and they told the crowd "If some guys come to you with a video camera and ask you to show them your tits for back stage passes I want you to spit right in there fucking faces and say 'you will not destroy me'" I don't ever wanna here you or anyone else say they dont care about anything but money because that is bull shit. |

The song was a cover from The Mistfits, a great inspiration to the band. The song is the story of the 1969's horror movie "The Astro Zombies." In which a "astro scientist" Dr. DeMarco reanimates the corpses of dead criminals to make "Astro Zombies" which he sends on a murder spree. The band was greatly influenced by The Mistfits and horror movies so it only makes sense why My Chemical Romance would do a cover for this song. P.S. This song can only be found on the CD for Tony Hawks: American Wasteland which can be found most likely on eBay or easier Itunes |
