Alice in Chains – Would? Lyrics 9 years ago
This song is obviously about Layne Staley's addiction to heroine. As are about half of the songs on AIC's 1992 album 'Dirt'. "Know me broken by my master". The master is heroine, as he becomes a slave to his addiction. The chorus of the song is especially melancholy. He is clearly remorseful about tempting heroine. "So I made a big mistake". They say that no heroine trip is ever as good as the first. The body builds a tolerance for the drug, and eventually need more and more to get high. "Flying not yet quite the notion." It's been written that Layne's father was also a drug addict. As such, he was not around for Layne as a boy, that is until Layne became famous. Layne having already sampled heroine at that point, started getting high along with his father, together. The return of his father just messes him even more though, as Layne comes to realize he only wants access to drugs. Eventually, Layne's father cleans up, but Layne was never able to. "If I would, could you?"

Bush – Glycerine Lyrics 14 years ago
Like many have already interpreted, I think this song is indeed about a relationship (perhaps a marriage) that, looking back, could have been 'better.' Now, the other person in the union has passed away, and the singer recounts thier life together as bittersweet. I think "Glycerine" is chanted in this song because the term has a special, inside meaning to the singer and his late love. Perhaps it was the name of a club where they met or shares an unforgettable moment. Sort of like Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," a listener never would have figured the meaning of this song title from the lyrics. The singer of that song titled his song accordingly becuase a girl that he fancied told him that he "smelled lilke Teen Spirit (a women's deodorant)."

Coldplay – Moses Lyrics 14 years ago
concur. this song is about Chris Martin's wife Gwenyth. It is widely known that Gwenyth suffered from post-partum depression after the birth of thier son, Moses. This song is Chris's attempt to inspire his wife to cheer-up.

Michael Jackson – Human Nature Lyrics 15 years ago
I read somewhere that this song was meant to speak about Michael's first real time spent on his own away from those who have controlled him for most of his life (ie his father). "Why, Why, does he do me that way." He relishes the freedom and reflects on the abuse he suffered for so long.

Gin Blossoms – Found Out About You Lyrics 15 years ago
this song is about a guy who fell for 'party girl' (to put it lightly) one summer. he probably 'loved' her b/c the sex was so good. eventually, she found a new party, and the guy was left permanantly scarred. you know how this goes. doesn't matter how bad a girl might hurt you, the obsession (and perhaps compulsion) will carry on for sometime.

Chicago – The Glory Of Love Lyrics 15 years ago
for the record, i'm 99% certain that Chicago the band is not creditted with this song. This would fall under Peter Cetera's solo career.

Sponge – Molly (Sixteen Candles) Lyrics 15 years ago
first off, a lyric correction. "i watched you passed out FOR AWHILE" and not "forever."
the song is about two people who have been close for some time and most likely intimate.
At one point, the guy probably did love the girl, but because she is such a junky (at such a young age) and depressed, he decides over time that he cannot be with her. "Sixteen candles down the drain." Her life is a mess.

Līve – Lightning Crashes Lyrics 15 years ago
the song is about the circle of life. it seems the writer falls back on this reality to deal with his pain over losing a close friend.

first verse: a new mom gives birth to her baby. the angel opening her eyes is the new baby. the confusion refers to the controlled chaos that is life on earth; the imperfection of people. it sets in so fast.

second verse: simultaneously, an old mother passes away. her earthly mission is now retired. the angel here is the old woman. the imperfection of humans is now inherited by the new baby.

third verse: reiteration of the first verse; "presents the circle...puts the glory out to hide..." the baby's birth reveals the circle of life and casts a dim shadow on the miracle of life that has just occured.

Chicago – 25 or 6 to 4 Lyrics 15 years ago
Like many have already said, the song is about writing a song and a reference to time. But, to bring the two theories together, I'm sure that the band was "under the influence" at the time.

Chicago – 25 or 6 to 4 Lyrics 15 years ago
yea, Chicago was not anti-drugs. Maybe now they are, now that they are pushing 70. Back in the day, nah. I've been to shows and they reminisce about the 70s, and hint about doing drugs.

America – Tin Man Lyrics 15 years ago
When a situation has already transpired,
And convincing people talk amongst themselves
Some of them are quick to buy into the "BS"
And reap the comfort/satisfaction of knowing they've diverted a crises/accomplished a solution

Believe in yourself/have no doubt in your own ability/don't be convinced b/c it's convenient.
Don't take comfort in someone else's "pitch" b/c things do not happen "just because" or as a result of benevolence.

Here is the one truth. It's all "BS."
Too many convincing opinions are floating about
It is causing confusion and blinding us from the truth that we naturally seek
