â€ I try to picture the man to always have an open hand, And see him as a giving tree, And see him as matter, matter of fact he’s not a beast, But oh not the devil either, He’s always a good deed doer, Where it’s laughter that we’re making after all.â€ When I hear the first stanza in this phrase it makes me instantly think of the man as greedy, but as it carries on you learn that he’s a â€giving treeâ€ as â€a good deed doerâ€. This could be symbolism for people judging others from first glance. He’s not bad he’s actually a good guy who’s not worried about just making money but â€making laughter.â€ instead. But I have to say my favorite of this whole section of the song is the pun â€see him as matter, matter of factâ€ |

â€ I try to picture a girl through a looking glass, And see her as a carbon atom, See her eyes and stare back at them, See that girl ,as her own new world, Though her home is on the surface she is still a universe.â€ I love this phrase. It speaks about how humanity is so complexed and no amount of analization can tell who a person truly is. The idea of living in this universe but being a universe all in ourselves. Meaning, where we live doesn’t define us , we define where we live. |
