When I first heard this song, I was younger, so it didn't know what it meant, it just sounded melancholy to me... Now, I think that he's talking about something he did in the relationship that he regrets, and understands was wrong. and she cannot let him live it down. "when i sneak in your bed, to out salt in your wounds..." everytime he's around her, she feels like he's rubbing it in, making the pain worse. "call it quits it get a grip said you wanted a solution, you just want it to be missed" particularly speaks to me, and my current relationship. i was cheated on, still love him, but still can't trust him. even though he assured me nothing like that will ever happen again. if she can't let it go, she needs to end everything with him or just accept, then forget the past. she wants things resolved, yet she likes to bring it up, perhaps in spite. it always gets to me....... great song... |
