| So I was just watching the Daisy Session versions of a few songs, and it got me reminiscing with Brand New. They've always had amazing songs, and I've always loved them. I've been listening to songs super closely, and reading along with the lyrics in front of me and I realized something I never saw before. To me, it looks like the first two lines of the song were added sometime after the song was first written. It was a song that had been written about how he was ALMOST giving up, and wanted help not to. Then, the first two lines were added after he finally DID give up. He says "It's so sad, this doesn't suit you now, and me (I'm) fresh out of rope". As in "When I first wrote this, it fit, but I don't really mean it anymore". I don't know, maybe it's just me. | |
