i always interpret this song as Murphy's wife dying in child birth. Some of the lyrics are interpretive, but the way he talks about "being smaller than my wife imagined" makes me think of how huge a baby must feel in the womb. Also, he says "i wish the we could talk about it, but of course thats the problem" and i think hes talking to the child, who is too young to speak. Just an idea though |
