I hate this song so much.. but in a good way. Never has a song held so much control over my emotions as this one has. Not only lyrically, but the instruments by themself just immediately make me feel so hopeless. I wish that I had written it, because it could not more perfectly explain my situation over the past few years. I hope someday I can enjoy this song without thinking of my Libra. Well I'm not gonna break this song down line by line because YappyMutt did that pretty perfectly. But to me this song is just about the feeling of hopelessness in love. Being so irreversibly in love with someone you don't have a chance with, or lost your chance with. The other person seeming to just be with you because you cheer her up when she is upset, even though she knows and refuses to reciprocate the feelings you have towards her (but you stupidly still believe that she could love you someday), because she has never seen you as a potential relationship. Just a guy who will lead his life in some other direction. The second half of the song (which has some of the most passionate emotional vocals I have ever heard) is kinda the realisation that she will never love you. Normally you can tell if someone loves you, but you don't feel or see anything from them. The way he sings the "you don't see me" always makes me think of a tantrum when you break down, like chucking chairs through windows and punching holes in walls before falling down and crying in a corner. Truly amazing stuff by APC. I really hope that there will be another song made in the future that can hit me as hard as this one does. |
