This song really speaks to me about my current relationship. My love has been diagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder, and often has suicidal thoughts. It's very hard for her to sleep, or to get the motivation to do anything sometimes. Because her medication doesn't work as well as it needs to, she often pushes me away, using things I've said in the past as an excuse to try to not talk to me (usually ignoring anything else I have to say). She's often paranoid that I'm going to do something to hurt her, because most of the men in her life (including family) have hurt her or their spouse, etc. in some manner, and the's afraid that she'll make a mistake and mess our relationship up. The last verse kind of bothers me, because in our case, it could really only allude to a double suicide. If her disorders ever get the best of her... I don't know how long I could last without her. |
