| you really did hit it in the head. its just so sad whenever things dont work out the way you wanted them too. especially when you already knew they wouldn't but you still went along for the ride......Why? i don't know really i guess cause its all stupid really. anyways this song reminds me of a combination of i hate this part by the pussycat dolls and the dog days are over by Florence and the machine. this song really got me... its been more that a month since that day..... and everything, every word in the song i feel as though it was coming from someone based on their actions on certain situations......i kick myself now and should have known better.i should have ran | |

I think that this song is about a girl who was in a unhealthy relationship, she knew the guy was not right for her and she still went along with it, she was hesitant about the relationship (she hid around corners and hid under beds"but out of nowhere it made her really happy. "she killed it with kisses and from it she fled" but she still felt unsure. (happiness hit her like a bullet in the head, struck from a great height by someone who should have known better than that.)the guy should have known better than to mess with her because they weren't right for each other but now she wants no part of it. hence "the dog days are over", meaning the end of being in an unhealthy relationship, however she still liked him...not exactly though, just the fact that he made her so fake happy. "and i never wanted anything from you, except everything you had and what was left after that too" so now she needs to move on with her life and is doing so by setting herself free from this madness by running with the horses. "can you hear the horses cause here they come" she can either stay in the same spot and have her love and belonging tie her down, and get stomped to death by the horsies, or she should move on and run free with them. and at the same time as running freely, leave him behind and let him go, her motivation to leave this relationship would be people who truly make her happy like her mother, father, sisters, children and brothers and forget this dude who wasn't right for her. I like to think that both the girl and boy mislead each other and she ended up getting caught up in everything. even though she knew he wasn't right for her, she went along with it because it made her feel so happy, and even though it wasn't right she ignored it, thats why she felt so guilty/uncertain because she knew that it wasn't true. that is the unhealthy part of the relationship, she needs to run fast with the horses, leave all of her love and belonging behind, cause the baggage was too dam heavy for her to run free with , it tied her down, eventually the lies made her sad and she couldn't survive with it anymore. the dog days are over, the hot boring icky days are over, and now horses are coming in to save her from it, (realization) her family perhaps, motivation to move on from that place, move on and run free. sorry it was long or repetitive, i just kinda realized something....lol |
