I relate to this SO much. I just started a relationship with a boy who lives an hour away. We both know, and everyone knows that our relationship is never going to work but we like each other too much to not go out. The burning room symbolizes our relationship is doomed from the start "burning down" yet, we still slow dance together, taking our time. God, i love this song <3 |

I feel like this song is about a young couple getting hit with the recession. That they've known each other for a while, and are now out in the real world, and the guy lost his job, causing them to fight and him to drink. "She's all laid up in bed with a broken heart, while i'm drinking jack all alone in the local bar" Well, they just sit down one night with cheap wine, talking all night about their problems, and saying things they haven't for a while (how much they mean to each other) "We just now, got the feeling, that we're meeting for the first time" means that they now see each other at their worst, and its like they are meeting for the first time without the fluff of first teenage love. (Seeing them as a real person) That's just what i think :) |
