| John Mayer – Born and Raised Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think this has got to do with JM's parents getting a divorce, especially the lines "I got a Mom I got a Dad but they do not have each other" The song is hinting at a depression... a mourning for the loss of his childhood. It's the point in life when you realize that you aren't a child anymore, you're really born and raised... that your parents have finished taking care of you and now you get to live on your own or it's now your time to take care of them. |

| John Mayer – Why Georgia Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think everyone has a "Georgia" or a place or situation you chose to go into but still think, "What the hell am I doing?" There's always an uncertainty about your decision and people will always question you, "Why?" It's a rite of passage as you grow up and leave the nest, so to speak. One of my favorite John Mayer songs. |

| John Mayer – Clarity Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Whenever I hear this song I am reminded and transported to the video where he drives through a road with a view of the sunset. And for that few minutes I get that bliss he is talking about. I don't even worry about the lyrics that much - just the melody and the "oooh... oooh..." | |
| Metric – Black Sheep Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think the song is about a friend who the writer thinks lost his way or became different, thus Black Sheep. The song starts off when they were young and they were angry at the world. Probably when they were teenagers. But the friend grew up and, in the writer's point of view, kinda "sold out" to the pressures of becoming an adult. Got a minimum wage job, got a respectable car, sucked up to the boss (takes a ride from anyone). The writer felt betrayed. Meanwhile, he still keeps on pursuing their dream, even though it seems impossible - buying real estate in outerspace sort of thing. |
