i agree with athomeintheclouds and link029 like, they were close before, they talked for hours, became very good friends. but suddenly "what the hell happened?!" like, when they meet in the hallway, they will ignore each other, but the air is intense, extreme. they know they have feelings for each other, but they kept it as secret. "the things we feel alone from one another". they like, love each other. nobody knows, just the both of them. then one loses hope, (i.e. the guy) then, 'i'll whisper only once'. then goodbye. then that person is left in the cold, while the other moves on. singer is grabbing every opportunity just to be in touch with the other. "i won't sleep if you won't sleep' in the end, singer is secretly breaking, while watching the other moving on. |

this is like an epitome of my love life. back in college there was this guy, i had special feelings for him, and i knew he had too. we grew closer, but i suddenly vanished out of the scene. i left him hangin' there, with no explanations... maybe because i was afraid that i will fall deeper in love. he was persistent, but i disappeared out of sight, i never gave him chance to talk to me or whatever communication there is. what could've hurt him is because we were friends, then developed into something closer, then i disappeared. without saying the words, the most important words, the crucial ones. i kept it all inside. because i don't want it to hurt so much when we say goodbye. let me share this: One grows distant from another, not because of hatred, not because of indifference, but because of fear. There's the fear that the hurt gets greater as one gets closer; a recognition of the tendency to fall deeply, and consequently drown in a quicksand of stupid irrationalities.
