I think 'sucker love' is just love in general, that would explain the 'every me, every you' bit, he is speaking on behalf of every person in the world who's fallen in love. He is basically just saying that love is pointless and not really different to the other times you thought you were in love, but you fool yourself into thinking it's special this time. They both know this but are trying to prolong the inevitable 'Sucker love is heaven sent' Although it's stupid you can't live without it 'You pucker up our passion's spent' The chemestry between them is dying, but they are still trying to keep it up 'My heart's a tart' His heart throws itself upon anyone, ie. he falls in love a lot 'Your body's rent' He/She has the same problem 'My body's broken yours is bent' Neither of them are perfect, they are both scarred and so try to find solace in each other. 'Carve your name into my arm, instead of stressed I lie here charmed' They would do stupid things for love, and it is kinda like a drug, stops them reacting like they normally would 'Cuz there's nothing else to do' That's the whole reason why love exists 'Every me and every you' They are just like every other couple in the world who are in love 'Sucker love a box I choose, no other box I choose to use' He has chosen that person to love, and he is trying to convince himself that he wants to be with that person forever 'Another love I would abuse no circumstances could exuse' Again telling himself that unlike the other times this person is special and no one else would do 'In the shape of things to come, too much poison come undone' Too much love/poison and it will all fall apart ... 'Sucker love who's known to swing, prone to cling and waste these things' Love is unstable 'Pucker up for heavens sake, there's never been so much at stake' He is begging him/her to try to make this relationship work cuz he loves them 'I serve my head up on a plate, it's only comfort calling late' After they argue he is willing to do anything for him/her cuz again he loves him/her and wants them to stay together. ... 'Like the naked leads the blind, I know I'm selfish I'm unkind' He admits he isn't perfect 'Sucker love I always find,' He can't help but fall in love with people 'Someone to bruise and leave behind' But it's always the same, he ends up hurting them and leaving them 'All alone in space and time, there's nothing here but what here's mine' He is saying the love they have is shallow, and hardly there but he doesn't care 'Something borrowed, something blue' Reffering to marrage traditions to keep with the theme of love? I heard somewhere that this song is about being famous, and constantly on the road, as Oli is, and therefore about how hard it is to have a normal relationship and a normal life with someone. 'Ever since this began, I was blessed with a curse' Ever since he became famous, he has had the up-sides to being famous, but also has the bad things as well, hence 'blessed with a curse' Not sure about the rest though, but this and 'don't go' have to be my favourite songs of the album. :D |

I love it when it says 'Paint the fucking walls'. Taken out of context it makes me giggle whenever I hear him say it with so much passion. Therefore I conclude that this song is aimed at Oli's interior decorator. :P |

^Now I know what they are saying at the the end, don't you think it sounds a bit like a therapy session or something like that? It seems to introduce 'It Never Ends' rather than end 'Anthem', and I love how the peacefulness of that end part goes so well with the intro of the next song, that isn't so peaceful |
