Florence + the Machine – Dog Days Are Over Lyrics 15 years ago
Oh and the part "She killed it with kisses" could be like her saying goodbye to her pillow - this whole song could be in reaction to the fact that now she is famous she has to work hard

Florence + the Machine – Dog Days Are Over Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is talking about growing up or maturing.... I think that when Florence refers to the "Dog days" she is talking about the days were all you do is relax and can be care free, like a dog... but one day she has to grow up and it hits her like a "train" or a "bullet to the brain" and she isn't prepared so she tried to "hide around corners" and "under beds".... Now she is expected to "Run fast for her family," or in other words, work hard to help support them... I'm not exactly sure on this part, but when she sings "And I never wanted anything from you, except everything you had and what was left after that too," she could be saying that she wants something in return for all this work she has to do... I also was not sure on the part either - "Struck from a great height by someone who should no better then that." My best guess is that her mother, father, or other person in authority over her is responsible for her new responsible and they should have known better then to give it all to her so quick. Hope this helped! 15 from WI
