I mean ultimately, it's very much true. I think in times where we feel grief, sorrow, and mourning we really see who we are. Regarding his opening statement I agree whole heartily. Believers who go to heaven will be as bloody as hell, completely covered with the blood of Christ that has provided redemption and forgiveness for sins. I use to struggle with lyrics like this and lyrics from the song Contact but ultimately As Cities Burn is a band that is brutally honest. We lie to ourselves if we say we don't wrestle with doubt sometimes or if we don't see the weight of our depravity and disobedience to God. |

Good song. Pretty much in the vein of what others said. Why do the "good boys" need the blood of Jesus? They go around following a law that doesn't get them anything. They may keep their "liver clean" or "smoke out of their lungs" but if they think God wants their little petty works they have sadly mistaken. God desires for us to have faith, it's the only thing that pleases Him. People that truly see themselves and understand their wickedness embrace the grace of God given to us through the broken and battered body of Jesus. The people that think they are basically good are blind to that truth and strive to do works to earn God's favor. |

I sort of feel like it has to do children that grow up and hold to all the beliefs of their parents. Like if their parents are conservative politically, they are to. It could be that they hold to the same theological beliefs as their parents and the same practices. |
