Limp Bizkit – No Sex (feat. Aaron Lewis) Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm listening to this song simultaneously as I attempt to add my interpretation to this song.

What I get from this song's meaning is that a relationship that ONCE had the potential to be something more, is now tarnished and based solely on sex. Sex is all the relationship is reduced to, and even then, the sex is not even worth the feeling of self-disgust that follows.

"You let me dive right, you let me dive right in...
How could you respect yourself?
you couldn't respect yourself cuz
I didn't respect myself.
I couldn't infect myself with....
realize that I'm worth more than that..."

^^This conveys the idea that regret and self-hatred follows meaningless sex. The female is more than inviting and quite too easy to pass up, hence the line, "you let me dive right in..."

In retrospect, he's saying that he's worth more than just meaningless sex. He's capable of so much more, i.e. love. He's saying he has too much respect for himself to be in this position any longer.

Linkin Park – Pushing Me Away Lyrics 14 years ago
Linkin Park performs this song so beautifully live.

To me, this song is about a relationship that has hit a wall, but yet both parties are trying to hold on even though it's a lost cause. It seems to be also about attachment and being with someone out of habit, even though it may be an unhealthy relationship. It's basically about a relationship hanging from a thin thread, nothing can be done to help it except to leave, and push one another away. It's a classic case of being better off alone, than to be in a relationship that is not wholesome.

"The sacrifice is never knowing
Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see your testing me pushes me away..."

This is about not having reciprocation in a relationship, in which in the end you'd only be hurting (playing) yourself for taking such a risk to begin with. Love is a risk. He's saying the true sacrifice is figuring out WHAT made him stay in this unhealthy, detrimental relationship. Why didn't I walk away if I knew this is bad? Why am I hurting/playing myself this way? It all points to insecurity which is evidently the theme of many Linkin Park songs.

Linkin Park – My December Lyrics 14 years ago
"My December" is a metaphor for a cold, lonely time in this person's life -- also the end of something, most likely a relationship. December is the coldest month, and the end of the year which leaves you reflecting on the past year, the regrets, mistakes, happy times...

Linkin Park – My December Lyrics 14 years ago
First of all, I'd like to say this is a phenomenal song written by talented artists, known as Linkin Park.

To me, "My December" is a metaphor. This song screams solitude. Loneliness. It's almost to a point of desperation, hence, "...give it all away, just to have someone to go to..." He's saying having ANYONE is better than this hollow, lonely feeling. It's better to share happiness with someone than to be alone with it.

"And I
Take back all the things I said
to make you feel like that
And I
Just wish that I didn't feel
like there was something I missed"

^^This conveys regret, and feeling incomplete after a fight or argument despite winning (or not), because at the end of the day, something is still missing. That's enough to leave one regretting previous actions.

Personally, this song strikes a sentiment within me. It brings me back to a dark time in my life. I still feel this way: lonely.

Again, great song & that's my two cents.

Savage Garden – Aubergine Girl Lyrics 15 years ago
Also, I'd like to add that in this song, Darren is conjuring the fact that this amazing girl with a normally good judgement and standards seems to be so blind about something good that's standing right before her.
Hence, the lines,

"And I just can't believe
A girl with your discretion
Would be so blind she can't see
What's in front of her eyes"

Savage Garden – Mine Lyrics 15 years ago
This by far is one of my favorite SG songs. It is so eerie-sounding with a twist of sexiness, and angst. To me, this song seems to be about a man, Darren, wanting a woman he can never have and he knows it; it's unrequited love. She's not even aware of him and these feelings. The first verse sounds like Darren is fantasizing about her. I agree with 'eirenightshade' that there are some voyeuristic elements to this song--that's what makes it so intriguing! I love it-- it's an amazing and underrated song in my opinion. ♥

Great song. :) I just felt it was my calling to comment on this one. This songs seems to be about a boy, possibly Darren, who is so infatuated with a girl that doesn't seem to give him the time of day. He just wants her all to himself, but she seems to be clueless how badly he really desires her.

I think this song is a lot about loneliness. I think it's about being somewhere– although beautiful–but still not fitting in. Darren could be putting on some sort of facade like everything's great over the phone, but in reality/person he's so alone. However, over the phone, things are so anonymous that the person on the other line could be so oblivious and not have a clue as to how he truly feels.

Lol, where does his lisp come out at? Like, what word(s) does he pronounce with a lisp? By the way, I agree with your interpretation! (:
