Archers of Loaf – Web in Front Lyrics 15 years ago
What popped in my head reading the posts was maybe his relationship to his instruments and amps. Pin - cord jack thingy; Spine - guitar neck;

Web in front of his favorite lie - The mesh cloth or the design on the front of the amp covering his insecurity about what he has created musically.

Magnet in his head - the music in its purity as he hears it in his mind's speaker (magnet) and by the time it is expressed with his hands it is tarnished (wasted)

All I ever wanted was to be your spine - To have the confidence to be worthy or to create the 'core' of what the instruments are there for as they are empty, soul-less without the musician.

Picking it up on the radio.- local radio station interference on the amps? The amp trying to get him radio air time the only way it knows how but it's a hollow effort. And he's talking to amp, "You're not the one who let me down, but thanks for offering." as to chastise the amp for the practical joke.

Didn't mean to reply to you specifically, just noticed the other box down there.
I may be all out in left field but it was fun to ponder for a bit.
