love the guitar work in this song. Jughead gets ripped a lot for the simplicity of his compositions, but they are so melodic. I get so sick of fools saying, "well shit, anyone could play that", yeah, well could anyone compose it? I don't see you out there creating anything half as interesting. |

i was completely blown away by this song the first time i heard it. It has a great opening riff and intro, which instantly grabs you. Then the song pivots to the body of the song, which has an entirely different memorable melody. It is so instantly catchable and sing-songy, that you completely forget about how awesome that intro was. So what does Kilgour, Scott and Kilgour do? They conclude the song with that same awesome intro riff - the one that you had completely forgot, due to being immersed in the beautiful catchy main body of the song. Total songwriting oneupmanship: Here is a catchy riff. now, we'll give you a second one that totally makes you forget the first one. need reminding? we'll play the first one again for you at the end. Mind blowing. |

i get chills when it breaks in to the "But ohhhhhhhh, when I saw you again" it's like seeing a girl you once loved and you had managed to put her out of your mind, had moved on... and then you suddenly see her, and all the emotion comes flooding back. the swell of subtle strings in the chorus certainly help fuel that feeling. |

exactly, leamanc.. up until "Your big head has that more room to grow" the entire song was Lou admitting he was a pain in the ass. the "Tapping 'til I drive you insane" bit i think is about being on the road and just intentionally doing little things that drive another person crazy. The section in "This band could be your life" on Dinsoaur Jr chronicles all of this. |

when you're old and lonely and the rush of life is past days go by too slowly and the years go by too fast such a tragic passage. I find it to be a very bitter song, essentially saying you are going to regret deciding not to grow old with me. When love is unrequited, we all want to believe that that person of our affection is going to regret not being with us someday when they are old. |
