this is definitely a very young-love, nostalgic-like song about the person you're so into but can't really pursue a hundred percent. the idea of age and immaturity and overall complexity mixed with bad timing makes it so heartbreaking, but so addicting. |

i feel like its about the person in the relationship who's completely out of control and can't get a handle on their emotions (whether they're too attached, or maybe not even in the relationship yet). the "go steady" part to me, is more like a cry for help, retention or attention- rather than an actual request for a relationship.. i think it links more to infatuation and desperation than it does to a serious relationship |
