I believe Cudi's lyrics could be a little more general in meaning. "These voices they tell me go, but why should i ever go, man im so comfortable here, why should i head to a place where people live in fear" Cudi is explaining just himself and how he feels his ideas are not if this world and that he doesn't function like a human being. He's comfortable in his version of how life should be lived and doesn't comply with society's depiction of how a "human being should living" and where people live in fear of breaking out of this society. if something isn't normal it is by default weird and Cudi who is so deep and different as compared to the ideas being expressed in media and music, specifically in rap where it is more about the "apple bottom jeans with the boots with the fur" to quote Cudi's "The Prayer." Cudi "will never fit this puzzle' or mold perhaps society's depiction of an average lifestyle. He fees different so much to the extent that "he is not of their world" He flies from a different route and fears rejection of his ideas. But mother moon, perhaps a god, consience of voice of some sort that gives cudi life meaning or universal purpose tells cudi he needs to do this because no other artist will. he needs to express himself because there are people or fans that can comprehend. "A Hero to Save the World" to show all these other lonely stoners or just loners that they are in fact "not alone" because cudi has united us. But now i think i might have stretched this this too far because now Cudi almost sounds like a christ figure |

I think something can be said about the actual idea of ghost. Perhaps when he was doing blow he just went through the motions and wasn't all there. It was as if a ghost was living his life and now he sees what he's left with. He's proud of "the people he's met and the places he's been" but he wasn't really there, when did he lose control. "When did he become a ghost." Just a quick idea that came to mind. Tell me what you think |
