| Now that I read it over - it could possibly mean that the guy in the story had called out to Jesus several times in his life, but never actually followed through in a relationship with Him. He finally cried wolf and meant it, seriously reflecting on his "lifeless life" and asking Jesus to save him. | |

to cry wolf comes from the old tale "the boy who cried wolf" about a boy who kept calling to his family that there was a wolf around, they would come out in a panic only to find him laughing that he had teased them. After he did this several times, a real wolf actually showed up and the boy cried wolf again. His family ignored him though, thinking that he was kidding again. Of course he ends up dying. Google it and I'm sure a better version of the story will come up. You can also combine this with Seremiahs interpretation :) But I have grown up hearing about the boy who cried wolf, and it sounds like the metaphor he is making. |

I. love. this. song. The lyrics, Patty's voice...everything about it is amazing. It always takes me a while to understand exactly what she's saying, which makes me love her songs even more. The lyrics have a lot of meaning. The song seems pretty self explanatory, about a girl named Lorraine. The only thing I'm confused about is if Lorraine is related to Patty.... "Lorraine who spoke of paintings in Paris And outlandish things to her family just to scare us" Unless she is just singing from another's perspective, which she seems to do a lot. |

This is one of the first Patty songs I heard and I am in love with it. Brilliant lyrics that have a lot of depth. Not to mention her beautiful voice and the melody. Not sure what the Mad Mission is, or if it is a cultural reference, but it seems like it has something to do with religion, or just following God in general. Not everyone makes it to the loving cup, but only if you have the ambition. |

I found this on JJ Heller's Facebook page: "At the time when I wrote "Your Hands" (with the help of my husband and our friend Katie Herzig) I was in the middle of one of the most difficult times of my life. I had been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks for a few years, but I was at a point where I was either panicking, or wondering when my next attack would come. I prayed that God would immediately remove all of my symptoms, but He chose not to answer my prayer that way. Instead, He reminded me that I have no reason to be afraid.
