| Sheena Easton – For Your Eyes Only Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Correction: Die Another Day is the worst Bond song ever. And this song is much closer to the top of that list than the bottom. You sound like a mad Blondie fanboy/girl. |

| Mariah Carey – Always Be My Baby Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Next time you think about commenting, why don't you write in English?! It's like doing that exercise where you read that paragraph - the first and last letter stay the same, but the letters in the middle are scrambled in every word... except that's easier to read than this! | |
| Mariah Carey – Dreamlover Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| You're not alone. She's SO annoying now. It's like she sings to just show off her vocals now. | |
| David Banner – Like A Pimp (Remix) (Feat. Busta Rhymes & Twista) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Anybody ever try and read the opening verse while listening to Twista spit? It's so damn hard to keep up with his flow!! Haha. He's nuts, one of the best rappers I've ever heard! I'm not someone who likes too much rap from this new age. I'm more of an old school rap fan: 2pac, Biggie, Dre, etc., but I don't even have that many songs by them. I do like this song though. It's pretty good, especially with the addition of Twista. | |
| Sisqo – Thong Song Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It is just so difficult to figure out the meaning to this song. I'm stumped. It's pretty repetitive, but it's just too freakin' good. I also didn't really care much for this song when it first came out, but it's grown on me. | |

| Adele – Rumour Has It Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I agree. This sounds pretty accurate. The first time I heard this song, I thought it was alright, but now that I've listened to it a few times and understand the meaning; it's a good song. Not the best, but good. I don't think anything will top Rolling In The Deep or Set Fire To The Rain. Adele has grown on me a lot. She's very talented. | |
| Phil Collins – Don't Lose My Number Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Why does everybody think every song is about homosexuality, drugs, or sex?! C'mon, dude! Read the lyrics! You really think this is about a guy being gay?? No. This is obviously about a guy's close friend who was mixed in with the wrong people or maybe he was wrongly accused of something. So, he decides to flee and never come back because if he doesn't, something bad will happen. Maybe he will go to jail or be killed, I don't know, but I mean read the lyrics, seriously! There are people looking for him probably to capture him and do something bad to him. That's the feeling the verses give to me. To me, every time I hear this song, I think about a guy who's gotten into some trouble. Maybe he has a gambling problem and couldn't pay back his debt, and the bookies are after him to beat him or kill him. That's hypothetical, of course, but that's the type of situation that goes through my mind every time I hear this song. Nothing in the lyrics implies that he was gay. And obviously, Phil Collins is saying, "I will always be your friend. I'm here for you. So, don't lose my number, or don't forget about me.", because he knows he may never see him again... or at least it will be a very long time before he does see him again. | |
| Hootie & the Blowfish – Let Her Cry Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Actually, you're incorrect. It is, "She says Dad's the one I love the most, but Stipe's not far behind." If you listen to the words of the song, it's pretty clear. I found the correct lyrics on Google and posted them on here. It's on the 3rd page of the comments. | |
| Hootie & the Blowfish – Let Her Cry Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
These are the correct lyrics below.... and I would have to go along with the majority of the comments and say this song is about a guy in love with a girl who doesn't love him back. The second part of the first verse says it all, "She never lets me in, only tells me where she's been when she's had too much to drink." She's just not interested in the same relationship he wants, or perhaps she's emotionally damaged, and that's why she doesn't let him in. I don't think it's about her being addicted to drugs.... She sits alone by a lampost trying to find a thought that's escaped her mind She says Dad's the one I love the most but Stipe's not far behind She never lets me in only tells me where she's been when she's had too much to drink I say that I don't care, I just run my hands through her dark hair then I pray to God you gotta help me fly away And just... Let her cry..if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing...if it eases all her pain Let her go...let her walk right out on me And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be...let her be. This morning I woke up alone found a note standin' by the phone saying baby, maybe I'll be back some day I wanted to look for you You walked in I didn't know just what I should do so I sat back down and had a beer and felt sorry for myself. Sayin'... Let her cry...if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing...if it eases all her pain Let her go...let her walk right out on me And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be...let her be. Let her cry...if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing...if it eases all her pain Let her go...let her walk right out on me And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be...awww... Last night I tried to leave cried so much I could not believe she was the same girl I fell in love with long ago She went in the back to get high I sat down on my couch and cried yellin' "Oh mama, please help me! Won't you hold my hand?" And Let her cry...if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing...if it eases all her pain Let her go...let her walk right out on me And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be...let her be. Let her cry...if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing...if it eases all her pain Let her go...let her walk right out on me And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be...let her be. |

| Fleetwood Mac – Second Hand News Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Drug references? I think you two are ON drugs. It's about sex. His girl broke up with him. She's with another man. He's "second hand news" because he keeps hearing about her and her new man through other people or other sources. He's not even important enough to her anymore for her to tell him herself. So, he wants to show or remind her of what she's missing out on through break up sex, essentially. I'm not 100% positive about this meaning, but I'm about 98% positive, haha. It's pretty clear. I mean, why would you ask someone to lay you down in tall grass to do drugs?? Common sense. And as for the lyrics, shouldn't it be "PEACE of mind" instead of "PIECE of mind"?? | |
| Jackson Browne – You're a Friend of Mine Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| How has nobody commented on this song yet? It's a classic 80's tune. Great saxophone playing, almost bone-chilling! R.I.P. Clarence Clemons..... It's just one of those 'feel good' songs, and I think it's self-explanatory what the meaning is. | |
| The Monkees – Daydream Believer Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Funny because I just watched that episode, and I looked up the song, ha. I totally agree. I believe this is the best interpretation, and the guy is the daydream believer; the girlfriend, Jean, is the homecoming queen. It's pretty obvious. | |
| Tommy James And The Shondells – Crimson and Clover Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Here's what I think. I'm not completely sure about the symbolism of "Crimson & Clover", but the meaning of this song isn't about drugs. Read the lyrics people! Although, perhaps the singer is comparing the feeling of love to the feeling of being "high". Crimson and Clover could mean 'complementary', ya know? Because aren't red and green complementary colors (anyone who has taken art classes?)?? I think the singer is trying to say he's fallen in love at first sight ("Now, I don't hardly know her, but I think I could love her."), and if she gave him the chance ("Well if she come walkin' over"), he could show her that they're perfect for each other ("Now I've been waitin' to show her crimson & clover."); they complement each other. | |
| Heart – These Dreams Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
"I search for the time on a watch with no hands" "Is it cloak and dagger, could it be spring or fall? I walk without a cut through a stained glass wall" These two lines are the best lines/metaphors in this entire song, and they pretty much explain the whole song. Basically, Nancy is trying to interpret her dreams. She probably doesn't even know what they truly mean herself. Anything can happen in dreams. You can be anyone, do anything, and your mind can edit anything because dreams aren't real. To me, "I search for the time on a watch with no hands", means dreams are timeless. The timeline in your dreams can go for decades when, in reality, you've only been sleeping or day dreaming for a few hours. OR it can also mean you want more. You want that dream to go on forever because it's so good. Everyone's had that dream that's so amazing, but then you wake up and it's gone. "Is it cloak and dagger, could it be spring or fall? I walk without a cut through a stained glass wall." This line describes how your mind creates a dream. 'What am I wearing? What am I doing? Where am I? What's the setting like? What can I do or what am I capable of doing?' The answer is anything because it's a dream. I don't think Nancy Wilson is trying to further people's understandings of her own dreams, but she's trying to describe dreams in general. I think she's trying to let us know that when you dream, it's like a completely different world. |

| Sara Bareilles – Love on the Rocks Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
No. This song is not at all about alcohol addiction. It's a metaphor. C'mon. "Hot as hell, cold as ice...", to me means that the relationship is always going to one or the other extreme. "Sip it slow 'cause its so nice, dulls my senses drives my pain but I do it again", it feels good because it impairs her senses, like alcohol, but it also brings her pain; and she can't help but keep running back. "Burns a bit to the touch, dangerous if it's too much...", means maybe like when you touch something, it burns you, so you wait a little while for it to cool down, but this one (the relationship) doesn't stop burning. The further they go, the more treacherous it becomes. "If this bottle could talk, Love on the rocks.", means if this relationship could literally speak, it would say, "This just isn't going to work out". |
|
| Sara Bareilles – Gravity Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think that's exactly what it's about. Her voice is amazing. This song is beautiful with the piano and the violin. | |
| Sara Bareilles – One Sweet Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think you've got it. I agree with this interpretation. My favorite line is, "Your unexpected love provides my solitary suicide". -Beautiful. |
|
| Sara Bareilles – Bottle It Up Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Well, there ya have it folks. I think the line, "I don't claim to know much except soon as you start to make room for the parts that aren't you it gets harder to bloom in a garden of love love love love love love love love", means that she can't grow as an artist if she only sings songs about love. |
|
| Angus and Julia Stone – Santa Monica Dream Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think this song is about a separation, perhaps a bitter one, but I think she's singing about the future they had always talked and dreamed they'd have. I think Santa Monica Dream refers to not just the place they wanted to be but everything else they'd share, such as 'fifteen children, drinking wine in the backyard, talking of the sea, etc.' So, now that they've separated, she's saying goodbye to the significant other and the future they could've had or dreamed they would have together. It's such a beautiful song. I like this song best along with Big Jet Plane and Yellow Brick Road. | |
| James Morrison – Undiscovered Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This song is simply amazing. The lyrics, the instrumentals, the melody, EVERYTHING is so beautiful. I love when songs start off a little slow and low key, and then pick it up at the end, making it so powerful. The choir/background singers is a great touch, too. This song is inspiring. | |
| Tal Bachman – She's So High Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Just watch "She's Out Of My League". It depicts this song's meaning perfectly, even though this song is from 1999, I think, and the movie is from last year. The movie is not a bad watch either. Basically, in simple terms, this song is about a guy who gets an amazing woman and feels like he doesn't deserve her. | |
| The Cure – Just Like Heaven Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This is quite possibly the worst interpretation of this song I've ever heard... Nothing in those lyrics implies that he's gay, and quite obviously, he's been married to a woman for years. | |
| Sage Francis – Waterline Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I just watched Pride and Glory, a movie that plays this song at its end credits, and the credits said, "Written by Sage Francis and Mark Isham". | |
| Fall Out Boy – Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Yeah, reading these comments, I couldn't believe nobody got that sooner - the whole 'figurative choking and turning blue' line. | |
| Fall Out Boy – Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Well, actually, it kind of has similarities with Dirty Dancing. I'm not completely sure what the meaning of this song is, but in Dirty Dancing, 'Baby' was sleeping with Johnny and trying to keep it a secret from her father. In this song, it sounds like he's sleeping with a girl who wants to keep it a secret from someone. Who that is, I don't know. | |
| Fall Out Boy – A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me" Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Actually, I've change my mind, haha. The more I listen to the song, the more I pick up about what it actually means. Some of it I'll stick to, but some of it is wrong. I think the line, "I'm sleeping on your folk's porch again, dreaming she said, she said, she said 'Why don't you just drop dead?'", implies that they're already in a relationship. It would validate the first line of the song as well ("I confess, I messed up, dropping "I'm sorry" like you're still around"). Also, I think the line, "And you're just the girl all the boys wanna dance with. And I'm just the boy who's had too many chances", means he thinks she's too good for him. It points out his insecurities and implies he has jealousy because "all the boys wanna dance with her". So, he's always bringing it up and getting into arguments with her. Now, this is what I believe the title means. Because of his jealousy, he thinks in order to keep her; he needs to be more forward (Touch Me). He was always being himself (sweet, caring, etc. - Sixteen Candles), but because she was always around other guys who were most likely very popular, something he isn't, he thought he should be like them and be forward. So, he tries that and messes up big time, probably at an important event like a prom or something, which would explain the second line of the song ("And I know you dressed up. 'Hey, kid, you'll never live this down'"). Going back to the line, "I'm sleeping on your folk's porch again, dreaming she said, she said, she said 'Why don't you just drop dead?'"... I think he's literally sleeping on her porch (she lives with her parents, obviously) and dreaming about the night he messed up and sabotaged the relationship. He's sleeping there, so every time she would look out the front door, window, or leave the house, she'd have to pass by him or see him; and he'd have the chance to explain. The line, "So say, 'What are you waiting for? Kiss her, kiss her.' I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late.", means they're in the middle of an argument, and he keeps thinking, 'just end it by kissing her (which would essentially mean "I'm sorry")'. But he never does it because he doesn't know if it would work or if it would just piss her off more, so he never takes that chance. So, he's saying he realizes he should've taken that chance in retrospect. "I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late.", means the next time he has the chance, he's not passing it up. "Write me off, give up on me 'Cause, darling, what do you expect? I'm just off, a lost cause A long shot Don't even take this bet You can make all the moves You can aim all the spotlights Get all the sighs and the moans just right." ^I think this verse is saying, 'If you think I'm like every cheesy 80's teen movie (Sixteen Candles) where everything always works out with a happy ending, just give up on me because that's not me. I'm not perfect. This is who I am.' So, the part I'm sticking to is the "teenage high school romance" thing. I still believe it's supposed to sound that way. I think the more you understand a song, the more you like it. So, hopefully this helps. Great song. |
|
| Fall Out Boy – A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me" Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| You don't get it because you're 12, haha. Kidding. Well, kind of... because Sixteen Candles is a movie from 1984, and Touch Me is a song from 1986. In case you don't know, Sixteen Candles is your typical teenage romance movie. Touch Me is, well the opposite, haha. So, the guy is saying, "Okay, enough of this teenage romance stuff. Let's touch.", or at least, something along those lines. | |
| Fall Out Boy – A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me" Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Yeah, I agree with myotherhalf. This song is definitely supposed to sound like a "teenage high school romance". I mean, the title says it all. A Little Less Sixteen Candles means that the guy was always shy and naive, and he was always trying to be sweet and consider her feelings. A Little More "Touch Me" means, 'Okay, I know what you're doing now. I know I'm late, but now I'll be forward. Please take me.' You've got to think of the guy as one of those outcasts in high school or maybe he just wasn't a popular guy in school, and he's going after, perhaps the most popular, most beautiful girl in school. He keeps thinking that there's no way she'll take me because I'm not popular or good looking enough. So he's afraid of rejection, and he keeps 'chickening' out.--"I know you dressed up. Hey, kid, you'll never live this down." Then, he realizes he's lost his chance, or maybe it's his last chance (do or die) type of thing. So, he's mustered up the courage to finally tell her, but she's not giving him another chance because he's already had so many. That type of situation has "teenage high school romance" written all over it, not "adult mature romance"... or whatever. I think you get the point. I think this is a great song. It's very well done. | |
| Lady GaGa – Poker Face Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You actually are all wrong, but I guess on the right path. I saw an interview she did for Fuse, and she said this song is about her making love to a boyfriend from the past; but when she made love to him, she would sometimes be thinking about women. So, it's about the guy being incapable of knowing that she's thinking that and I guess faking it (pleasure). I believe she also openly admitted to being bi-sexual in that same interview as well. The interview is on YouTube if you do't believe me or want to watch it for yourself. | |
| Linkin Park – Lying from You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This is the best LP has ever done! I think it's about a guy who's constantly trying to please a girl he loves, or thinks he loves, so he keeps changing who he *really* is so she'll love him back. Then, he finally realizes what's happening: that he's not himself anymore, that he's become someone he doesn't really want to be, that he's become that person because that's what she wants him to be. He realizes that that's not who he wants to be, and if that's what she wants from him, then he doesn't want to be with her anymore. "The very worst part of you, is me." |
|
| Emery – Edge of the World Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This song is amazing! Rated 5 stars on my iPod. This is my favorite song. The lyrics are incredible, and the instrumentals are just as good! As for the meaning, I agree with Sargey. I think they've hit it right on the head. Emery is progressively becoming one of my favorite bands. They're so good. As for urnumberonebitch, I think those are just ignorant comments of yours. It doesn't always take two to fuck up a relationship. Secondly, why wouldn't it be aimed towards a female? The lead singer is a male, therefore he was most likely going out with a female! If he were gay, it would've been a male. Evidently, he's not gay! That's just how the story went. Then again, I'm just assuming that this song was a personal experience of the singer's, but that's how most musicians create their material. |

| Sweet Thing – Change of Seasons Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Corrections: 1st verse - "What you **going to do?" (just a typo, sorry) And, as I suspected, I was right! It is, "It changes WITH seasons.", at the end of each verse. I just listened to it again. I believe everything else is correct. |
|
| Sweet Thing – Change of Seasons Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
immortlone1188, you are very correct, haha. I'm going to try this one out... "You want love, but you fear it. Your attention's been shifting. You summed up the feeling with a simple dismissing. What you gong to do? Deceiving. It ain't you, believe it. 'Cus our love ain't easy. It changes the seasons. Chorus: Ooooooh! Yeaaaaa! Where we're going, I don't know. Ooooooh, so baby won't you let it go? Baby, won't you let it go? You sewed shut the curtains. You closed out the light coming in. And all your friends, you don't want near. You don't want advice, advice to hear. 'Cus inside you're working. You're mending what's broken. 'Cus our love ain't easy. It changes the seasons. Chorus (2x) Bridge: Don't you worry, won't you let it go? Baby, don't worry. Just let it go, let it go. (4x) Chorus (2x)" I believe those our correct. I did them myself, while listening to the song. Feel free to correct me anyone. At the end of each verse, "Cus our love, it ain't easy. It changes the seasons.", may be incorrect; but that's what I hear. It might be, "It changes *with* seasons.", which makes more sense. I'm not sure though. I would just like to say, I love this song. I heard it in the Easy A movie soundtrack, and I fell in love with it at the end credits! It would be nice to see what some people think on its meaning though because I'm not 100%, and I'd like to know. Besides, that's what this site is all about, no? (: |
