I disagree. This is not about the end of a relationship, but a brief vignette in a relationship. The man clearly adores this woman, and she seems content. "The bearers of all good things arrive" does not sound like a description of the end of a relationship. Her eyes are "molten." Passion still exists healthily in this moment, as does love. |

Well, potted plants are generally comforting, beautiful, living things. You would hope that whoever he loved enough to write these lyrics for (even if it's an imagined person) would be comforting, beautiful, and alive, or was once alive.
