i agree that suicide is completely selfish; because it becomes about " my pain" " my suffering" not the pain and suffering you end up causing your loved ones. i havent yet had a chance to listen to NFG's cover but im very fond of the stewie version :P |

You definitely didnt deserve all that heat but Song intepreter & Emilyae (of which was best) made great points, now here are mine. 1. How does "sound of the waves collide" not make sense when the song clearly references water? You are right that the beauty of music and songwriting is that the simplest of lyrics can be interpreted a million ways or just quite possibly in this song, literally. 2. You come across as someone very close minded for someone majoring in music...Who are you to say the lyrics meant nothing to chino when he wrote them? Did he actually say that in an interview or something? That statement is an indication to me that youre not as much of a fan as you think IF the thought that a musician such as Chino just trips balls writes without thought came into your head. Also, Since when does music HAVE to be logical..especially with Deftones their music is very open and experimental; at any rate it IS logical because the lyrics & singing fit perfectly with the vibe of the music. As a musician myself, i feel less is more when it comes to lyrics...you dont have to have intense vocabulary or "thought provoking" metaphors/similes. Simplistic wording does wonders on its own. Although i can definitely agree to an extent with your argument on "tonight, in the end why hate on something that works? |
