at least Flatbug gets it...come on people this song is about drugs straight up and not a clearer drug song has been written since People Are Strange. A beautiful song about being sober for the first time in a minute and the exhilaration of that feeling of freedom. It's hard to believe this many people wrote in with other interpretations. They are clever at times but off-line. Any addict will tell you what's up with these lyrics. |

What a song! I first heard this song with the video so it will influence my perception of the whole song. I don't normally like videos in general. This one is exceptional however. It is a perfect match for the intensity, artistry and abstract nature of the music and lyrics.
A short synopsis of this song I believe is that it is, as I indicated above, abstract. It is a narrative poem from a lover admitting their faults in a semi-defensive mode hinting at reasons for their inadequacies all the while expressing their genuine desire for attachment and the love that they thrive off of. They should use this in Californication season 4. Fits perfect to Duchovney's Hank Moody. |
