rott3n, What exactly is wrong with the American government? Is it the fact that they believe in freedom and equality? Is it the fact that they believe a country endowed with as much power as ours should seek to protect the world from dictators and tyrannts? Or maybe you are focusing on the opposite side of the spectrum. Is it the fact that our government has steeped us in debt? Almost every other major country faces the same fiscal problems. Is it the fact that we "stick our noses" where they don't belong? If we didn't, Russia may have begun another World War, or the use of nuclear power may have occurred several more times. Is it the fact that our media culture has spread around the globe? Wherever it has spread was by those people's choice; we didn't shove pop culture down your governments throat. |

BCMM, With utmost respect I would love to correct you on your obvious skewed and incorrect perception. Because of the millions of deaths the German government has caused the world with its World Wars, it is still under close scrutiny and not allowed to have full military capacity. Although America has been involved in several wars since the end of WWII, many people fail to remember that almost all of them were in the protection of global security, with hardly any direct benefit to the United States itself. We have sacrificed our time, money, and people for the safety of others, and for the freedom of oppressed people. You would have to be completely ignorant (which I'm sure you are not) to believe the USA enjoys sending off our young men and women to fight overseas. We all can not wait until the Middle East is secure enough for the US and our allies withdrawal, however if troops withdrew immediately, the region would fall into chaos. This chaos would lead to unchecked terrorism, which would target free, European and American countries (Germany is located in Europe, in case you forgot). Therefore, the American government and its European allies fight for the security of the entire world, fighting to prevent a third World War and any further use of nuclear power. I'm sure you now understand the huge mistake you have made, and I'm sure you will be more careful in the future when talking about things you have no knowledge in.
