Wow I can't believe I'm the first to comment! This song is amazing! So when I first heard the song I thought it was about a close friend that maybe has similar issues. Example: Diagnosed bipolar/bpd and my best friend is also bipolar. She is the first person in my life that has even come close to understanding. When I listened to the song again I heard Justin say "drugs" after he sings "voice of a friend" So my second thought is that the song may be about having a friend who has/is helping through a mental/drug problem.. or maybe going through it with you. While the drug is something that keeps your relationship strong.. it is also tearing it apart. :/ |
