Also my interpretation: It seems to be to a friend or lover possibly and is about how ADRT used to be a smaller band and suddenly became big. I've sold my soul to the open road and I live my life alone seem to be saying that he's devoted to the music (touring more specifically) so can't love anyone so is effectively alone. The friend or lover seems to be peeved that they got big and think's they 'sold out' but the song writer feels even though they're bigger the fame won't change them.
