Hank Williams Jr. – There's a Tear in My Beer Lyrics 12 years ago
I love this version with his daddy's vocal tracks in it. Had he lived, they could have made some damn nice duets. It's a great song to sing when your baby leaves you and you need to take your frustration out somehow.

Ronnie Dunn – Cost of Livin' Lyrics 13 years ago
Times are still tough. Living on the east coast, I don't see it as badly as it is, but I know where it's been hitting the hardest, right in middle America. Going to college, I see all of these people who seem oblivious to what's going on, whose biggest problems are "whose going to buy the alcohol?", or "why did my football coach get fired for harboring a pedophile?" "wow Snookie lost a ton of weight!" The working man's forgotten and it really sickens me. Great song overall. Reminds me that there's still a lot of rough patches in our country that we just can't forget about

George Strait – Living For The Night Lyrics 14 years ago
Good song. Sad song. I see it both ways as a difficult breakup and the tragic loss of his daughter. Personally, I can related to it as tough breakup. She's gone, and the "whiskey kills the man you turned me into" because there's no reason for him to exist if she's not there either.

George Strait – Wrapped Lyrics 14 years ago
I've been on this George Strait kick lately. I always liked listening to him, but now I think I'm starting to fully appreciate the "King of Country."

I think this song is really about a guy whose pretty normal and knows how to keep his cool except for this one particular girl. Something about her that makes him a little nervous, a little less confident, and crazy in love with her.

Justin Moore – Run Out of Honky Tonks Lyrics 14 years ago
Last week, I ran into this girl I had a thing with. She seems to be doing allright. I wish I could say the same for myself. After that I drank to this song. Not a smart idea at all. God I miss her.

Keith Urban – Stupid Boy Lyrics 14 years ago
This is the "I effed up" anthem for guys everywhere. I was on and off with this one girl a few years back, but it was never serious for me when for was for her. I may have been afraid of the commitment at the time, or maybe I was just a stupid, stupid boy. Eventually she found someone she stuck with. When she finally figured it out, she was long gone. :/

George Strait – Write This Down Lyrics 14 years ago
No comments on this one? Wow and it's such a great song. It's one of the ones that remind us why is the "King of Country." Sometimes I forget it's a breakup song where the guy does not want her to forget he still loves her. Kinda sad, but definitley a great one nonetheless.

Hank Williams Jr. – A Country Boy Can Survive Lyrics 14 years ago
Great classic song. This Yankee Cowboy's got the heart of a true southerner and it's about being a lot tougher and handling more than others. You've got to be if you're a country boy.

Jason Aldean – Amarillo Sky Lyrics 14 years ago
Simple man who works every day of his life. Doesn't ask for much, but for good fortune for his family. Great overall!

Luke Bryan – I Know You're Gonna Be There Lyrics 14 years ago
You miss her and want to see her badly. You bring someone to your favorite place knowing she's gonna be there. It hurts a lot, and no one will fill that void other than her.

Clint Black – Nothing but the Taillights Lyrics 14 years ago
Funny breakup song. A real pick me up if you've recently gotten out of a relationship. Hopefully if yours ended as badly, that you'll also get the last laugh.

submissions
Rodney Atkins – Take a Back Road Lyrics 14 years ago
I heard this song for the first time on the radio in coincidently enough in a traffic jam! It's the kind of song you need to blast on with your girlfriend in the passanger seat as your driving through a real backroad.

submissions
Jason Aldean – The Heartache That Don't Stop Hurting Lyrics 14 years ago
"Sigh" Obviously a song about the initial feelings when you break up with someone with whom you really cared about and believed they were the one. Sure you've broken up with tons of girls before and came out just fine. But this one, no no. It's different, she was special, she was perfect. It's gonna sting a lot more than the others combined. But you breathe in and out, give it time, and you realize she's just another memory in your rearview mirror. On to someone new, someone better, someone who won't end up just a memory.

submissions
Ronnie Dunn – Bleed Red Lyrics 14 years ago
Simple song with a simple meaning. We all make mistakes and hurt others we love when we don't mean to. Nobody's perfect. We're all human, and we all bleed red.

Lady A – Just A Kiss Lyrics 14 years ago
Great song. It really reminded me of why I fell in love with country music in the first place. Even if you do not fully understand what the lyrics mean on brilliant songs like these, you just know that they're perfect for when you're tryna express how you feel, but just can't put it into words, but you know the song more than takes care of it for you.

submissions
Jason Aldean – Lonesome USA Lyrics 14 years ago
Pretty much where I'm living in right now haha. But in all seriousness, this song takes a satirical view on being broken up and alone by making it seem like you're pretty much living in a one-man town, with that one of course being you. Good song, and it'll make even the most heartbroken smile from listening to it.

Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics 14 years ago
Nine Inch Nails may have done this song orginally, but his cover on it is simply brilliant. It's one of the saddest songs I've heard in a long time, and for this to be his last hurrah was kind of like saying "I want to just say I'm sorry, before it's too late." Shortly after, he was gone and hopefully out of what towards the end became his hell. We should all be so lucky.

submissions
Merle Haggard – Mama Tried Lyrics 14 years ago
An old song, but a great one. Truly one of the best songs of all time in country. It's an ode to all bad boys out there, who just never listened to their moms.

Rhett Akins – If Heaven (Wasn't So Far Away) Lyrics 14 years ago
Heard the Justin Moore version of this song the other day and have been listening to it ever since. Just an amazing piece that speaks the truth. Losin' them wouldn't be so hard to take, if heaven wasn't so far away.

Montgomery Gentry – Lucky Man Lyrics 14 years ago
Such a great song. It really makes you take a step back and realize how even though you might only "have a lot of simple things" in life, when you all get down to it, they're the most important things that matter.

submissions
Kenny Chesney – I Go Back Lyrics 15 years ago
Good song. It basically is just saying that there's always a few songs in your life that each represent a different time in your life when things may have been better, worse, or just different.

submissions
Toby Keith – Bullets in the Gun Lyrics 15 years ago
Yeah thats what I thought too. It was still a nicely done music video. I think the ending also added to the real meaning of the song as told in the chorus.

Chris Cagle – What Kinda Gone Lyrics 15 years ago
Good song. Catchy tune. Easy lyrics to learn, simple meaning.

Eli Young Band – Always the love songs Lyrics 15 years ago
I heard this song for the first time a few days ago. It's a nice feel good song about things once good, and hopefully will be good again.

Brad Paisley – This Is Country Music Lyrics 15 years ago
Another song that kinda pokes fun at society and how country music does everything that everyone else doesn't to avoid any awckward or unpleaseant situations. But that's how it's done in this music industry. Great music doesn't come without taking some risks here and there.

submissions
Brad Paisley – Alcohol Lyrics 15 years ago
This was just a hilarious song and one of the first conutry songs I really started to listen to. The fact that its told in alcohol's perspective makes it that much greater. Just like the album, listening to this song over and over again truly is time well wasted.

Gary Allan – Get Off On The Pain Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is me. I don't know why I try and go for girls out of my league or pick fights I'll never win or try an do things a I can't. But maybe it's the pain from failure that I love, not the things themselves.

submissions
David Nail – Red Light Lyrics 15 years ago
Sadly a lot of break ups happen that way. Makes them all the more painful.

Gary Allan – Songs About Rain Lyrics 15 years ago
I always like singing this song. Any time I'm really sad, it helps. 'Cause there may very well be times in your life where you'd just rather blame music for bringing you down to tears, instead of a broken heart.

Toby Keith – Courtesy of the red, white, and blue (angry american) Lyrics 15 years ago
sad...typical of an atheist to hide behind a computer and bring atheism to where it doesn't belong.

David Nail – Red Light Lyrics 15 years ago
I remember getting this song on itunes as a free single of the week. then it got real popular. I was also going through a breakup at the time and this song really hit close whenever it came on. Wonderful song nonetheless.

Rodney Atkins – Farmer's Daughter Lyrics 15 years ago
This song makes me think of summertime for some reason. Great song though with a nice little story to it. Really wish one day I'll meet a nice farmer's daughter myself. :D

Chris Cagle – My Life's Been a Country Song Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm only 18 and I've only been listening to country for about five, but my short life has been a country song. I've fallen down only to get back up, I've had a lot of good times and bad, and I've had my heartbroken and thought I've found love. It's about the simple things in life everyone wants, and you feel a better connection if you're from the south or are into country.

Toby Keith – Courtesy of the red, white, and blue (angry american) Lyrics 15 years ago
Don't f*** with America. We WILL find you and you WILL pay the ultimate price! Great song. I get fired up everytime I hear it.

submissions
Brooks and Dunn – Only In America Lyrics 15 years ago
great song. this song is America. Country music has changed for decades, but the one thing constant is that it countinues to produce more songs that make you proud to be American than any of the other genres combined.

James Otto – Groovy Little Summer Song Lyrics 15 years ago
Great song. It's just one of those summer songs that you gotta have a girl at your side to listen too. God, I love summer! Haha, that's when the best magic happens.

Jack Ingram – Lips Of An Angel Lyrics 15 years ago
I don't know. I'd have to say I like this version of the song better. Hinder's would have been better if the lyrics weren't so smooth compared to the melody. The lyrics were meant for pop or country.

Bon Jovi – Livin' On A Prayer Lyrics 15 years ago
If you're from Jersey, you can't call yourself a true New Jerseyan if you don't have this song on your iPod. It's not just one of their best songs, it ranks up their alltime songs. The kind everyone knows when they hear the introduction.

Love and Theft – Runaway Lyrics 15 years ago
My life sucks. For now at least, but I listen to this song and it makes me want to break free from my boring life and go on to better things, no matter the risk, because you'll never know until you just go for it.

submissions
Rockie Lynne – Lipstick Lyrics 15 years ago
I remember listening to this song and watching the video a few months after I really started to like country. I thought this was a great song. A guy is sick and tired of the common, every day routine, and he wants to take his girl on a getaway, spur the moment trip. It's a shame Rockie Lynne didnt' become a bigger star.

submissions
Collin Raye – Little Red Rodeo Lyrics 15 years ago
Great song. The kind of song that when you have recently met a girl you're interested in, and this comes on the radio, you're almost tempted to hurry on over to this girl and ask her out, even if she's not hurrying away.

submissions
Jason Aldean – Who's Kissing You Tonight? Lyrics 15 years ago
^^^ Agreed. The love between them may be long gone on the outside, but there will always be a piece in his heart for her, where he hopes she's doing fine, and still wonders how her life is. I was gonna sing this at my talent show for high school last year, but they didn't have the karaoke version. So instead, I picked "The Truth," which wasn't a bad alternative.

submissions
Jason Aldean – The Truth Lyrics 15 years ago
I sang this at my high school's talent show last year, kind of like my last hurrah as a senior. I surprised everyone at school with it and a lot of them said I was great. I think the reason I sounded so good was becasue I lived this, and I was able to take the pain I had and put it into the song. Lyrics are just lyrics unless you truly feel the emotion that goes with them, or else the song will at best be good, but never great. That's why I would never put it past myself if Jason Aldean has this exact pain at one point in his life. I got ambitions to make it to Nashville one day, and I always joke around with my friends, that I've had enough heartache and good times to make dozens of albums.

submissions
Luke Bryan – Someone Else Calling You Baby Lyrics 15 years ago
I think the meaning on this song is self-explanatory, but nonetheless, it is a great song. He knows he messed up bad with this girl and he really wants to know if there is someone else for her, and if there is he'll be on his way, but he's also telling the girl to not lay him down easy and he deserves the pain that seems all but inevitable.

submissions
BBMak – Back Here Lyrics 15 years ago
I remember making a CD for a girl I liked a while back....it didnt go well. She was a close friends and things were awckward for a while. But I remember coming across this song a few months after that and listening to it. It reminded me of how the late 90's were great. And even though this song is about love, it reminded me of the prime of my childhood where love didn't cause the pain that it does now. Haha, I'd give anything to go back there for at least a day.

Keith Urban – Put You In A Song Lyrics 15 years ago
There's that feeling when a guy finds a special girl and when he hears a certain song, the first thing that comes to mind is that girl. This song is about not just finding a song, but making a song for that girl, including all the ways and reasons he loves her. This one really grows on you after a few listens.

Jason Aldean – Country Boy's World Lyrics 15 years ago
I like the use of Southern cities with the names of world famous ones. You go down south, and it really is like its own little world. Maybe even better than the one most of live in now.

Keith Urban – Sweet Thing Lyrics 15 years ago
The music video is pretty awesome. It shows how one mustang over the year had witnessed so many people fall in love and while the styles and fashions change over the decades. that car was a constant.

Hank Williams – I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Lyrics 15 years ago
You can be broken up with someone, or you could just be apart from them, this song gets at you in every way possible. Such a great song that for decades has made people cry. Its songs like this that make country notoriously a sad genre, despite all the happy songs there are out there.

Luke Bryan – What Country Is Lyrics 15 years ago
I finally understand what the line, "it's a Jimmie Rodgers song that what was long forgotten," means. Jimmy Rodgers was one of the first real country stars, whose career and life was cut short from tuberculosis. He was way back in the 20s and 30s and the fact that was so long ago along with his tragically short career makes it rather poignant that Bryan mentions him in this song, because Jimmie Rodgers at one time WAS country.

Great song overall
