Seems like it's about committing suicide, the narrator plans to drown herself in the Mississippi River; "Lull me to sleep" - "I cross this road To make my last walk" - "Now do your waters Have room for one more" - "Please take me with you Far from this land" But it seems more like she simply wants to become one with the river rather than actually kill herself. |
