I see it as the complete opposite: Devin is saying he is the Fluke because he sees himself as not that special. As if to say "why do so many people worship me when I'm really not that different to them and there are so many more talented musicians/composers/songwriters than me?" Completely self-deprecating, unwilling to acknowledge his own talents as anything out of the ordinary. Sometimes I get the feeling the poor old bald bastard needs a hug. |
