Who's going to drink my blood Now that you're gone Who's going to right all my wrongs Now that you're gone Who's going to tear my flesh with a siren song Now that you're gone Woaahh Now that you're gone If it is in reference to Jesus, my interpretation is that he feels as if God has abandoned him and with this in the first verse he is saying who will drink my blood (his sins) referencing the last supper where Jesus tells the disciples to drink the wine and eat the bread which are his blood and body shed and broken for us all. In communion we drink the juice which symbolizes Jesus's blood shed for all, and through this we remember what he did and why: dying for OUR sins making us right with God. , and "right my . If Jesus is out of his life who's going to "drink my blood" "right my wrongs". He bore our sins when he died for us and righted our every wrong in life and in doing so took our punishment. As for the "Who's going to tear my flesh with a siren song" i can only interpret this as his referencing the Bible and the descriptions of the floggings etc. (you've all seen "The Passion") siren song. sirens call you in to harm, not sure here but he willingly (although he was afraid and asked if there was another way in Gethsemane) handed himself over, to a certainly known death. Funny how things can be interpreted so differently by each persons own paradigm |

I think when it comes to ambiguous lyrics the most sensible and evocative lyric meaning is the closest to the true intentional meaning. and in this case... It's the relationship between God and ourselves. Make my teeth clench And my hands shake Do you ever see What you do to me? You're wearing me out Just wearing me out But I'm wearing you down We just cant get over the free gift of salvation through grace and grace alone that puts us right with God. He asks if he sees what he sacrifices for him and this physically and emotionally wears him out. And at the same time he's saying that he knows how things work and what was done at galgotha and that his unmeritted/able salvation can only let the Almighty down You're impossible Lovely So impossible To win or please This bit explains the guilt all Christians have for not being perfect and blaming God, but God doesnt require this he only asks you to believe in the sacrifice of his perfect Son. Yet he throws in lovely as his one adjective to describe God amidst his frustration. Very love hate he and i certainly have found. I'm wearing you out Just wearing you out But I'm wearing you down Hes stressing his burden on God here the most, perhaps implying how he has strayed or gone through a period of disbelief or disobedience Take what you want from me It means nothing now Take everything from me It means nothing now Ah the best verses, it seems hes reached a point that point we should all be so fortunate to arrive at. Where "thy will be done" epitomizing love i think. My car and job is my life......take it......friends......take em......I only need and want you (i infer this bit) Not so easy to forgive Harder to forget Take what you want Maybe this is the disobedience i mentioned earlier through his weighing God down by not doing what he knows he should, forgive, forget, 70x7 I make your lips red And your moans quake Try to think through What I can do to you I personally dont agree God gets angry when we sin, dissappointed absolutely. What horrendous sins we can commit against God. Then again maybe he threw in some verses about a broad here. It's wearing you thin Can I begin To wear you out Wear you out Second quessing his assumption of weighing God down. This parts rhetorical. I'm impossible To figure out So impossible You've had your doubts In our eyes...absolutely. in his eyes...no. Genesis mentions right away Gods doubts about creating man after the fall. The chorus i just love and i just choose to ignore a lot of the stuff i cant figure out, twisting a songs meaning to evoke a stronger feeling is something ive found i do a lot. I mean have you heard the radio lately, sometimes i think i would be better off if a Taylor Swiftly yanked out my jugular, or a Beaver pushed me into a bus Justin time to meet God before Simon Cowell can hypocritically destroy one more stage act too many. Amen |
