Yeah, the person above me is right. She wrote this song after she almost got raped when she was stripper and no one did anything to help her. I do think it was about herself a school child though, I just think the feeling that she felt just after the rape incident reminded her of how she felt when she was younger. I think it's a way of taking out her pain on herself, reliving painful memories and trash talking herself. |

I find it difficult to believe this song is about depression or something bad. The song is too upbeat. It has a feel-good vibe to it. I used to think that he was saying this person is the good things DESPITE the bad circumstances. That they make the bad things in his life a bit better. But after reading all the comments, I don't know. It's very plausible that the song is sarcastic. This is just the middle parts though. No one has really tried to go into detail about the parts at the beginning and end. It's been established they are about death, but how does that tie into the middle? Maybe, it could be saying the no matter what you do, no "sleight of hand" (trick) is going to escape you from the inevitable fate that we are going all going to die. So this could be related to the middle part (if we look at it from the view that they are the good things despite the bad circumstances) that we need to make the best out of the bad times, as they are going to happen whichever way we take them. And then at the end, yeah sure, they are both going to die. But they will end up in the same place, maybe you're dying but you're not alone. I'll help you dig it, help isn't short when we have each other even though it's the end. I don't know, I prefer to think this is a happy song rather than a sad/sarcastic one. |

My favourite of the 2 releases. This is just a guess at the meaning. At the start of the song, there's a girl who likes him and shows interest in him. "I saw your package your nifty little package Read your letter bout how you loved my sweater" At the start of the relationship he realises she's not a nice person but that doesn't bother him, because he thinks there's a negative side to everything. "I've heard your evil and I've heard your wicked that you do bad things that would frighten children lake eriee's frigid oh I hate the winter but I still ice skate even though there's danger and that's okay with me every spider has a tree And the world goes round and round" But then as the relationship goes on he realises that if he stays with her then she'll eventually do something nasty to him "I don't desire to be clueless creature just waltzing through the woods waiting to get eaten" He's lonely but knows it was the best thing to do otherwise he would have turned into an evil person "I'm all alone and lonely in this tower I'm not that evil but there are some people I might have to harm them don't mean to alarm you" So yeah, he doesn't want to be with her. "You'll never be my pineapple girl" Just a guess at the meaning, maybe I'm looking too much into it. |

Well there is a long silence (half a minute long) at the end of the song, so that must mean that all connection is lost. Which really leaves a sad message, that the person is definitely gone. It could mean that he had just lost someone in his life, he was trying to contact them but the person won't talk to him or that the person was dead and he could, again, no longer contact them. |
