Seems crystal clear to me. He's an alcoholic/ user. He ruined a relationship, thanks to said issues/ maybe some other screw-ups. He regrets it; he realizes now what he has lost and wonders how it would be were he to change. Archetypal. Also, sounds a lot like my first marriage. |
