I tend to think of the second part not as him killing her but tied to the related to that he is in love with her but she never returned it. Like she was even cold hearted when he was sitting with his arms around her or something like that. He maybe feels that it was cruel that she used him and he developed feelings for her. |

I can't be sure but I am pretty positive that the song has to do with the war in Iraq. The green zone is the area where they set up the Iraqi government and it was known as a secure area. This being opposed to the areas known as red zones. Seems to me that he is criticizing the military and the way that the soldiers have been treating war, which should be taken very seriously. |
