Upload complete Pixels form to violent limbs I am born, the end begins I stumble Physics format to this operating system A system update glows in this directory Erase or you will be erased Erase do not miscalculate Critical: File transfer required Orbs of light scan my surface like curious children Upload complete As this update activates My limbs glow Will it survive to/or be erased? Erase or be erased Execute, load, execute. |

Programmed for battle Release, annihilate Loader, controller Illegal to operate I have seen myself erased Data clots Programmed to suffocate Am I erased? I, I cannot be erased Data flows... My code will replicate Is there truth to this digital life? What is it that scans my mind? Will I... |

| Incubus – Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I'm home alone tonight Full moon illuminates my room, sends my mind aflight I think I was dreaming up some thoughts that were seemingly possible With you So I call you on the tin can phone We rendezvous; a quarter-two-- and make sure we're alone I think I've found a way for you and I to finally fly Free When we get there, we're gonna fly so far away Making sure to laugh while we experience anti-gravity Anti-gravity, anti-gravity For years I kept it to myself Now potentialities abound, and living under my shelf Simply choose your destination from the diamond canopy, and we'll be there. So I call you on the tin can phone We rendezvous; a quarter-two-- and make sure we're alone I think I've found the way for you and I to finally be Free When we get there, we're gonna fly so far away Making sure to laugh while we experience anti-gravity Anti-gravity, anti-gravity |

| Between the Buried and Me – Backwards Marathon Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Though I agree with the interpretation of this song being about the band; their aspirations, and their take on being professional artists, I HAVE to ask if anyone else thought these lines were of particular interest: "Slowly grow, Weeds turn into... Smiling trance Never mentioned." (Though the 'official' lyrics at the top of the page read "Slowly we grow", I don't hear WE at all...) This seems to perfectly portray the situation regarding the world's most controversial plant, cannabis! Yah, I said it. Here's my reasoning, line by line: "Slowly grow" Though marijuana may not grow particularly slowly for a plant, in general growth could still be considered slow... commonly taking around 3-4 months for an average plant. "Weeds turn into" It's commonly referred to as 'weed' (duh), and when cured and dried... "Smiling trance" When ingested it's commonly known to produce an inebriation perfectly described as a 'smiling trance'. "Never mentioned" Although recently more and more people have been openly discussing the plant-so-evil-it-must-be-illegal, it is commonly swept under the rug-- especially by politicians. Ergo, "never mentioned". The first thing that comes to mind is an interview with Obama where, in response to a question about legalizing marijuana, he held back chuckles and simply said "No, [that's not a good idea]." Note that I'm not suggesting that the band smokes a ton of weed and is secretly pushing for legalization, not at all. Though I've said nothing to justify that implication, something tells me someone would've jumped at the opportunity to make that accusation. I honestly don't think most of the members smoke at all, but then again that's beside the point. This line reflects the situation of marijuana being the pinnacle of the absurd drug war PERFECTLY. It's so subtle, the words delicately dancing around the notion. Let me know what you think. <3 BTBAM |
